WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles men's golf will look to make a statement on the conference stage as they head north for the 2026 Ohio Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship, set for April 26-28 at the Ackerman-Allen Course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex on the campus of Purdue University.
Haden Maxwell leads all Golden Eagles with the second-highest average score in the OVC (70.8), marking the lowest single-season total in recorded program history. Maxwell posted the third-lowest round in the conference (65) on two separate occasions: first at the Grover Page Classic (2nd round); second at the Xavier Invitational (2nd round). Nick Etherton is second on the team with a 73.4 average over 30 rounds.
The Golden Eagles enter the championship with the fourth-best average in the OVC (291.6), trailing SIUE (3rd; 288.3), UT Martin (2nd; 287.5), and Little Rock (1st; 286.1).

The championship marks the first time the OVC has been contested at the Ackerman-Allen Course, a premier venue that has hosted numerous conference and NCAA events. Designed by legendary architect Pete Dye, the par-72 layout presents a balanced test that rewards discipline and strategic execution—two areas the Golden Eagles have emphasized throughout the season.
The parkland-style course features rolling hills, tree-lined fairways, and well-placed white sand bunkers, along with expansive bent-grass greens and fairways. While water hazards are limited, the course's design places a premium on accuracy and consistency—key factors as Tennessee Tech looks to navigate three rounds of stroke play and position itself among the top four teams.
The field includes defending champion Little Rock Trojans men's golf, which claimed the 2025 title after winning both stroke play and two match play contests. With multiple contenders expected to challenge, Tennessee Tech enters the week focused on consistency and execution against a deep conference lineup.
Only the top four squads after 54 holes will advance to match play on the final day, where the championship will ultimately be decided. The format presents both opportunity and urgency, with the Golden Eagles aiming to combine steady scoring with the ability to rise in head-to-head competition.
