Tennessee Tech Men’s Golf Closes Fall at Xavier Invitational
Tennessee Tech men’s golf closes the fall season at The Xavier Invitational on Monday, Oct. 14. The competition will be played at Maketewah Country Club, hosted by Xavier.

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Tennessee Tech men's golf closes the fall season at The Xavier Invitational on Monday, Oct. 20. The competition will be played at Maketewah Country Club, hosted by Xavier.
The Golden Eagles have posted three straight Top 5 finishes with a best of second in back-to-back tournaments. Haden Maxwell has led the charge with Top 2 finishes in each of the last three tournaments alongside two individual championships. Maxwell finished second in The Scrappy at Cobblestone last week.
"Our guys are ready to wrap up the fall season on a strong note as we compete in Xavier's event for the fourth consecutive year." Said Head Coach Polk Brown. "Maketewah is one of our favorite places to compete and presents an excellent test for our team."

Haden Maxwell leads the OVC with the lowest average round (69.8) and has tied for the second-lowest round in the conference (65) in the Grover Page Classic, when he took home the individual title with an 11-under score (70-65-67). Maxwell leads the team with a 69.8 average and has finished in the Top 5 three times, Top 10 three times, and Top 20 four times
Nick Etherton posted the fourth-lowest single round in the OVC (67) in the first round of the Golfweek Fall Challenge to open the season. He finished tied for 11th in that event at seven under. Etherton is second on the team with a 72.3 average and has finished in the Top 20 three times.
Overall, the Golden Eagles have posted the fifth-lowest average score per round (287.9) in the OVC with 12 rounds played this season. The highlight of the season so far was a 19-under performance at The Grover Page Classic to finish third in September.
The Xavier Invitational features a field that includes host Xavier, Air Force, Detroit, Florida A&M, IU Indy, Morehead State, Northern Kentucky, Ohio State, Purdue Fort Wayne, Southern Indiana, St. John's, Tennessee Tech, and Youngstown State.
This is the final competition of the fall, and the Golden Eagles will be back in action in The Gulf Coast Collegiate on Feb. 23 to begin the spring championship campaign.
