Haden Maxwell tied for 1st after Day 1 at Bluegrass Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Tennessee Tech wrapped up the first day at the Bluegrass Collegiate Invitational on Monday, with second-round play suspended due to darkness and set to resume Tuesday at 8 a.m. CT.
The Golden Eagles sit in sixth place at +25 as a team through 15–17 holes of the second round at the University Club of Kentucky. Tennessee Tech posted a +15 in the opening round and stood at +10 in round two when play was halted.
Haden Maxwell led the way for Tech, sitting tied for first at 2-under par through 15 holes. Maxwell followed an even-par opening round with a strong 2-under effort in round two before darkness stopped play, putting him atop the leaderboard alongside Kentucky's Cameron Phillips.
Nick Etherton turned in a solid showing for the Golden Eagles, positioned tied for 15th at 4-over through 16 holes. At the same time, Cooper Gettler (+12), Bryson White (+11), and Matthew Shull (+17) rounded out Tech's lineup during the suspended second round.
Kentucky holds the lead at 3-under, followed by Marquette (+6) and Eastern Kentucky (+12) atop a tightly contested leaderboard entering Tuesday's completion of round two.
