COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech men's golfer Nick Etherton was named OVC Golfer of the week, as announced today by the conference.
Etherton tied for fourth, one shot behind a trio of medalists, at the Gulf Coast Collegiate held at the English Turn Golf and Country Club in New Orleans. The senior had rounds of 82-72-72 to card a score of 226 (+10). It marked his highest finish of the season and his second Golfer of the Week award.
Etherton has finished in the Top 10 once and the Top 20 four times during this athletic year.
The senior from Friendsville, Tennessee, closed with an even-par 72 on Tuesday to finish the three-round event at 226 (+10), tying for fourth overall. He followed an opening-round 82 (+10) with back-to-back even-par rounds to surge into the top five on the individual leaderboard.
This is the second time that Etherton has earned OVC Golfer of the Week during the 2025-26 season. He took home the honor the first time back on Sep. 10, 2025, after tying for 11th at the Golfweek Fall Challenge. That performance was highlighted by a career-low round of 67 in the opening 18 holes of the tournament.
As a team, Tennessee Tech carded a final-round +15 and finished the tournament +64, securing seventh place. The Golden Eagles posted rounds of +25 , +24 and +15 on the par-72, 7,078-yard layout.
