Men’s Golf is Second After 36 Holes in The Scrappy at Cobblestone

ACWORTH, Ga. – Tennessee Tech men's golf is second after 36 holes during Day 1 in The Scrappy at Cobblestone. Haden Maxwell leads the way in first at three-under following two rounds of play in Acworth, Georgia.
Maxwell continues his hot play to start the season, leading the field at three under with a 71 in the first round and 68 in the second round during Day 1 in Georgia. Maxwell made three straight birdies on seven through nine during the second 18 holes today. In total, he made 10 birdies through 36 holes during the opening two rounds.

The Golden Eagles (+14) tied for first in average shots on Par 3s (3.04), sank the second-best average on Par 4s (4.16), and made the third-most birdies (28) among the field of 11 teams, besting Murray State, Morehead State, and UT Martin in the OVC in birdies.
Nick Etherton ends the first day of action in 10th (+3) after rounds of 71 (Rd 1) and 74 (Rd 2). He made four birdies, but four bogeys led to a bumpy three over during the second 18 holes today.
Drew Bolton ends Day 1 tied for 32nd at eight over, making eight birdies through 36 holes. He finished his day with back-to-back birds on 15 and 16, posting two rounds of four over (+8).
Spencer Stuke sank three birdies in the first 18 but three double bogeys finished the final 18 of 36 holes in a bumpy fashion, sending him to eight over (32nd) through two rounds.
Alex Broyles (+8) made three birdies but ran into a little bit of trouble in the second 18 with five bogeys and one double bogey in round two to tie for 32nd.
