Golden Eagle baseball heads to Lindenwood for weekend set
ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Tennessee Tech baseball team is back in action this weekend as the Golden Eagles try to make a push for a spot in the Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championships with six games remaining to play. Tech (17-32, 5-16 OVC) heads to Lindenwood for a three-game set, scheduled for a 3 PM contest on Friday, 1 PM on Saturday and 1 PM on Sunday. The games will not be streamed this weekend.

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Tennessee Tech baseball team is back in action this weekend as the Golden Eagles try to make a push for a spot in the Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championships with six games remaining to play.
Tech (17-32, 5-16 OVC) heads to Lindenwood for a three-game set, scheduled for a 1 PM start on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The games will not be streamed this weekend.
The Golden Eagles have work to do, but are still very much in the hunt for the tournament field, standing three games back from Southern Indiana (8-13) and Western Illinois (8-13), while Morehead State (9-12) and UT Martin (9-12) are also within reach.
However, Lindenwood (10-11) is currently in fifth in the standings and have an opportunity to play spoiler to the Golden Eagles' playoff chances. Tech has only won five games on the road this season, two in conference play. The Lions are 18-10 at home, 7-5 in OVC action.
The Golden Eagles conclude the regular season next week as Morehead State comes to the Averitt Express Baseball Complex Thursday through Saturday.
As a team, Lindenwood is batting .257, posting 125 extra-base hits – 82 doubles, 12 triples and 31 home runs – while collecting 227 RBI and 260 total runs. The power stems from Jake Radosevich (.285), who has a team-best nine home runs and 36 RBI. Will Geary (.330) leads the team in average, hits (61), triples (5) and stolen bases (24), while Kam Edwards (.223) has a team-best 12 doubles. Radosevich and Geary also have 35 runs scored each.
On the hill, the Lions have a 3.98 earned run average with opponents hitting .264 against, while striking out 314 batters to 147 walks. Seth Benes (4-4, 2.28 ERA) leads the team in strikeouts with 67, while opponents are hitting .193 against him. Josh Newell (6-5, 2.39 ERA) has the team's most wins with two complete games.
Tech is hitting .273, compiling 147 extra-base hits – 77 doubles, 10 triples and 60 home runs – while producing 299 RBI and 319 runs scored. Jorsixt Jimenez, who was named the OVC's co-Player of the Week on Monday, leads the team with a .407 average, 52 runs scored, 72 hits, 15 doubles, four triples and 19 home runs with 66 RBI – all team-bests.
On the mound, Tech presently has an 8.67 ERA with opponents hitting .346, while the Golden Eagles have walked 231 and struck out 298. Jaxson Pease (5.64 ERA) has a team-best five wins and has seen the most innings with 60 2/3 under his belt with 13 walks and 40 strikeouts. Carter Casabella (5.92 ERA) leads the team with 41 strikeouts.
