Reece McDuffie Named to NCBWA Stopper of the Year Preseason Watch List
Tennessee Tech baseball senior reliever Reece McDuffie was named to the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Preseason Watch List, as announced today by the writers’ association.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech baseball senior reliever Reece McDuffie was named to the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Preseason Watch List, as announced today by the writers' association.
Reece McDuffie comes out of the bullpen as a high-level strike-thrower who walked just six batters last season in 54.2 innings while recording five saves and finishing with a 3.13 ERA. He went 4-0, allowing a career-low 19 runs over 21 appearances out of the pen last season. This is the first NCBWA Stopper of the Year Preseason Watch List selection of McDuffie's collegiate career.

McDuffie has struck out 59 batters in 97.1-career innings, primarily out of the bullpen with 49 appearances and two starts through three seasons. He's thrown 97.1 career innings and has walked only 27 batters. McDuffie has a 5-3-career record, including 4-0 last season, with six career saves (5 in 2025).
The senior from Mount Airy, N.C., made a career-high 21 appearances in 2025, going 4-0 with five saves and a 3.13 ERA (19 ER, 54.2 IP). McDuffie held opponents to a .250 batting average, while notching a 1.098 WHIP after facing 229 batters a season ago.
McDuffie, alongside Owen Lee, was tabbed OVC Player to Watch by the conference last week as the preseason nods continue to roll in for the Golden Eagles.
