Golden Eagle tennis honored with four Horizon League All-Conference accolades
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Tennessee Tech tennis team earned a quartet of postseason honors during Thursday’s reveal of the Horizon League All-Conference awards.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Tennessee Tech tennis team earned a quartet of postseason honors during Thursday's reveal of the Horizon League All-Conference awards.
Diego Munoz helped headline the purple and gold's haul after being named the league's Freshman of the Year, while first-year Tech head coach Mark Klysner claimed the conference's Coach of the Year accolade.
Two Golden Eagles were recognized on the All-League list with Alex Alvarez earning a place on the first team and Davids Spaks securing a spot on the second team. Alvarez was one of only three from the Horizon League's South Division to earn the prestigious first-team distinction, while Spaks was the only one from the South Division to be on the second team.
Alvarez paced Tech with an 11-5 singles record, while Munoz notched 10 nods and Spaks picked up nine solo victories during the spring. Alvarez and Spaks also teamed up for a 10-6 doubles record.
Mark Klysner helped guide the Golden Eagles to the program's first undefeated conference campaign since 2021 after Tech posted a 6-0 Horizon League account. The Golden Eagles will head into Saturday's Horizon League Tournament on a seven-match winning streak.
