Challenging slate ahead for Tech Softball in 2026
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – As the calendar just switched to a new year, it’s almost time for the Tennessee Tech softball team to follow suit. The Golden Eagles will have a challenging slate ahead of them to get ready to make their final run in the Ohio Valley Conference.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – As the calendar just switched to a new year, it's almost time for the Tennessee Tech softball team to follow suit.
The Golden Eagles will have a challenging slate ahead of them to get ready to make their final run in the Ohio Valley Conference.
The slate includes a traditional national power in Tennessee, former OVC rivals Eastern Kentucky and Austin Peay, as well as a sneak preview of what the Golden Eagles will face with the transition into the Southern Conference next season.
The season starts on Feb. 6-8 as Tech heads down to Buies Creek, N.C., to compete in the Campbell Tournament, taking on Howard, Florida A&M and host Campbell. The following week, the Golden Eagles will go to Boiling Springs, N.C., to take on Lehigh, Queens University Charlotte and host Gardner-Webb from Feb. 13-15.
On Feb. 20-22, Tech will go to Statesboro, Ga., to take on Rhode Island, former OVC rival Eastern Kentucky and host Georgia Southern at the GATA Challenge. The Golden Eagles will wrap up the tournament portion of their schedule on Feb. 27-March 1 as they head to Jacksonville, Fla., to take on North Florida and Jacksonville in their shared event.
OVC play will begin March 7 as Tech hosts SIUE for a three-game set before a non-conference midweek contest at future Southern Conference rival East Tennessee State on March 10.
Following a three-game set at Tennessee State (March 14-15), the Golden Eagles will host former OVC foe Austin Peay on March 18 for a midweek game, then host Lindenwood for a three-game series on March 21-22.
Tech hits the road to take on Tennessee on March 24, then goes to Morehead State on March 28-29. The Golden Eagles continue the road trip for the following week as Tech heads to Macomb, Ill., to take on Western Illinois on the Easter weekend, playing Friday and Saturday, April 3 and 4.
The Golden Eagles come back home for five straight as they host North Alabama (Apr. 8) for a midweek contest, Southern Indiana for a three-game OVC series (April 11-12), then Bellarmine on April 14 for a midweek.
Tech makes the trip back up to Illinois to take on Eastern Illinois on April 18 and 19, then hosts its final home games of the campaign on April 21 as ETSU makes the return trip, followed by a three-game set against UT Martin on April 25-26 with Senior Day highlighting the final game.
The Golden Eagles return to the road for the final weekend as they travel to Southeast Missouri on May 1 and 2. The following season will see the OVC Softball Tournament in Peoria, Ill., on May 6-9.
Admission to all home games at Tech Softball Field is free to the public.
