Tennessee Tech Men's Basketball Game Notes at Tennessee State
The Golden Eagles took down Little Rock 87-77 behind a career-high 26 points from Brandon Muntu on Saturday at Eblen Center. The win snaps a four-game losing skid and gives the Golden Eagles their fifth home victory of the season, improving to 5-5 at home on the year. Tech moved to 8-14 overall and 3-8 in OVC play. It marked the first home victory of 2026 and the first win since a 59-54 result at Western Illinois on Jan. 10.
LAST GAME
Brandon Muntu shot 8-of-11 from the field, including 4-of-7 from three, and made all six of his free-throw attempts, resulting in a career-high 26 points in the 10-point win over Little Rock. The Golden Eagles snap a four-game losing streak, tying for the longest of the season, and upset the seventh-place team in the OVC. The senior from Calgary, Alberta, Canada was one of four Golden Eagles in double figures with Mekhi Cameron (17 pts) joining him on 6-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-6 from three, JaJuan Nicholls recorded his third straight game in double digits with 16 points (6-of-9 FG) and was second on the team with seven rebounds, and Grant Slatten made his second straight start (Seventh total) of the season and posted 10 points (4-of-8 FG). Slatten has reached double digits in two of the last three games.
SCORING LEADERS
Mekhi Cameron leads the Golden Eagles in scoring with 11.5 points per game. He's shooting 42.2 percent from the field. Dani Pounds is second on the team in scoring with 10.5 points per game and leads the team in rebounds per game with 5.1. JaJuan Nicholls is now averaging in double figures (10.1 ppg), which is third on the team, while shooting a team-best 63.6 percent (89-140) from the field.
