COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech (2-2, 0-0 OVC) men's basketball hosts West Georgia (2-2, 0-0 ASUN) on Monday. Tip is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Eblen Center.
The Golden Eagles and Wolves have met three times on the basketball court, with Tech holding a 2-1 record in the all-time series. Tech improved to 2-2 on the season with an 86-64 win over Berea, which capped a 2-0 week at home that was opened with a 118-58 win over Virginia-Lynchburg a week ago.
Tech is looking to win its third straight game in a non-conference matchup against West Georgia from the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN).

West Georgia enters tomorrow's game with a 2-2 record, featuring wins over Huntingdon (W, 120-83) and The Citadel (W, 100-92) and losses to Nebraska (L, 86-53) and No. 15 UCLA (L, 83-62). Shelton Williams-Dryden leads the Wolves in scoring, averaging 17.8 points per game, Josh Smith with 16.0 ppg, and Chas Lewless with 13.0 ppg, making up three players averaging double digits. So far this season, West Georgia has been averaging 83.8 points per game and allowing 86 points per contest.
Mekhi Cameron has been on fire to start the year for the Golden Eagles, scoring in double figures in all four games so far. Cameron's averaging a team-leading 14.8 points per contest. He's scored 13 points at WKU, 16 points at Charlotte, 13 points against Virginia-Lynchburg, and a season-high 17 points against Berea.
Two other Golden Eagles are averaging double digits per game, with Brandon Muntu and JaJuan Nicholls posting 12.0 points per contest. Muntu has posted three double-digit scoring games out of four games played this season, with a career-high-tying 18 points against Virginia-Lynchburg. Most recently, Muntu shot 3-of-9 from the field, including 2-of-8 from three-point land to finish with 10 points against Berea.
Nicholls made a career-high 10 shots on 11 attempts for 22 points against Virginia-Lynchburg a week ago and scored 13 points against Berea on 6-of-9 from the field. Nicholls fell one point shy of tying his career high (23; at UT Martin, 1/25/25). He also grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season against Virginia-Lynchburg. Nicholls has shot 78.6 (22-28) from the field through four games.
Point guard Ty Owens handed out a season-high eight assists against Virginia-Lynchburg last week.
Tech is averaging 84.8 points per game while allowing 68.5 points per contest. The Golden Eagles are shooting 50.0 (125-250) while holding opponents to 37.8 (91-241) percent per game.
The Golden Eagles have outscored their opponents 339 to 274 through four games.
Tech has had four different players lead the team in scoring, with only Cameron leading the team in scoring twice (13 vs. WKU, tied with Muntu, and 17 vs. Berea).
Jacobe Whitted has led the Golden Eagles in rebounds twice, first against WKU (7 reb) to open the season and second against Virginia-Lynchburg (10, tied with Nicholls). Dani Pounds grabbed nine boards against Berea to lead the team in the most recent game.
