Tech Rolls to 99-38 win over SC Central Christian in Exhibition Opener
Tennessee Tech men’s basketball rolled to a 99-38 win over South Carolina Central Christian in the first of two Exhibition matchups Tuesday night at Eblen Center.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech men's basketball rolled to a 99-38 win over South Carolina Central Christian in the first of two Exhibition matchups Tuesday night at Eblen Center.
After weeks of practice and facing off against one another, the Golden Eagles rolled to victory 99-38 over SC Central Christian on Tuesday night. The Golden Eagles play two exhibition games before tipping off the regular season on Nov. 3 at Western Kentucky at 6:30 p.m. CT.
Tech had five players in double-digits, led by Mekhi Turner's 17 points on 7-9 shooting from the field and 3-4 from the free throw stripe. Dani Pounds was dominant inside, posting 14 points on 5-8 shooting and 4-6 from the free-throw line. Pounds also grabbed 9 rebounds to lead the team in boards. Jacobe Whitted scored 12 points on 5-9 from the field, including 2-4 from three-point range.
Mekhi Cameron made 3-5 from the field and 4-4 from the free-throw line to finish with 11 points, and C.J. McPherson shot 4-6 from the field and 1-3 from three-point range to end the night with 10 points.
The Golden Eagles shot 52.9 percent from the field and held a rebound advantage of 52-24. Tech held SCCC to 25 percent shooting (14-56), including 3-25 from three-point range, while limiting it to just six assists on 14 made shots. 12 of the 14 shots made by the Gladiators came in the second half after Tech entered the halftime break with a 52-7 lead.
SC Central scored 31 points in the second half, but Tech's lead was too much to overcome, resulting in a 99-38 final.

The Golden Eagles fly to Belmont on Oct. 28 for another Exhibition matchup at 6:30 p.m. in Nashville. Tech opens the 2025-26 regular season on Nov. 3 at Western Kentucky.
