Tech splits final day of APSU Invitational
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech collected a win in the sand Saturday as the Golden Eagles split its final day at the Austin Peay Invitational, claiming a 3-2 victory over Southwest Baptist before the host Governors claimed a 3-2 win over Tech. The Golden Eagles conclude the regular season next week at Morehead State at the second Ohio Valley Conference Play Day weekend.

Against Southwest Baptist, MK Roberts and Vivian Robards beat Melanie Cox and Addi Fanning 21-19 and 21-17. Cristina Rotola and Savannah Knepp overpowered Bre Perez and Maya Keller 21-14 and 21-10, while Zoe Mish and Maggie Kamp topped Sara Younkin and Fayth Kaminski 21-14 and 21-8.
Reagan Hoerning and Abbey Garner defeated Bailey Poppe and Kaesha Walter 21-16 and 23-21, while Kyana Gabriel and Alanah Craig went to three sets against Rory Stanley and Sara Younkin 21-15, 19-21 and 15-12.
Against the host Governors, Tech won the No. 4 and No. 5 pairings as Gabriel and Craig beat Emma Loiars and Alyson Cooper 21-19 and 21-16 and Mish and Kamp topped Cami Missig and Emily Freel 21-19 and 21-17.
Isabella Russell and Grace Austin beat Roberts and RoBards 21-13 and 21-11, Bailey Hope and Ashley Boswell defeated Poppe and Walter 21-10 and 21-8 and Addi Hultquist and Jordyn Beneteau won over Rotola and Knepp 21-11 and 21-7. Aubreigh Oswald and Sage Raby fell to Piper Jones and Audrey Kilgore 21-12 and 21-17 ias the Golden Eagles claimed the exhibition pairing.
