Golden Eagle Beach heading to Atlanta Wednesday for GSU Day of Duals
ATLANTA – After claiming its first win of the season this past Saturday, the Tennessee Tech beach volleyball team will have a busy day on tap Wednesday as the Golden Eagles head to Atlanta to compete in the Georgia State Day of Duals. Tech (1-4) will see three opponents on Wednesday as it takes on Austin Peay at 11:30 AM, Eastern Kentucky at 1:30 PM and host Georgia State at 5:30 PM. The match against the host Panthers will be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required).

ATLANTA – After claiming its first win of the season this past Saturday, the Tennessee Tech beach volleyball team will have a busy day on tap Wednesday as the Golden Eagles head to Atlanta to compete in the Georgia State Day of Duals.
Tech (1-4) will see three opponents on Wednesday as it takes on Austin Peay at 11:30 AM, Eastern Kentucky at 1:30 PM and host Georgia State at 5:30 PM. The match against the host Panthers will be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required).
It's just the start of a busy week as the Golden Eagles will then head down to Coastal Carolina Invitational on Friday and Saturday with Tech taking on Salem on 10 AM Friday, Coastal Carolina at 4 PM Friday, then South Florida at 8 AM on Saturday.
Tech broke into the win column in a big way to close out the Berry Beach Kickoff as the Golden Eagles claimed a 4-1 victory over LaGrange as they last left off. Kyana Gabriel and Jordyn Hamlin defeated Isabella Zentkovich and Kaitlyn Smith 21-18 and 21-13 at the No. 2-spot, while Piper Jones and Audrey Kilgore went to the third set to top Akajah Burton and Jasmine Gross 23-21, 16-21 and 15-7.
Kaesha Walter and Alanah Craig topped Kaitlin Gilchrist and Ella Kahlkina 21-19 and 21-17, then Zoe Mish and Maggie Kamp put together a dominant performance, beating Emerson Melvin and Riley Curtis 21-4 and 21-11.
The duo of Kamp and Mish in the No. 5 spot currently has the best record for a Golden Eagle pair at 2-1, while the teams of Kilgore and Jones, Walter and Craig, as well as Hamlin and Gabriel all have 1-1 marks this season. The No. 1 pairing of MK Roberts and Vivian RoBards currently has a 1-2 mark.
Austin Peay enters the Day of Duals with a 3-5 record, including a four-match losing streak – all at the Wheeler Beach Bash at South Carolina. The Govs fell 5-0 in all four matches against the Gamecocks, Coastal Carolina, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Chattanooga. APSU opened the season with a 3-2 victory over Morehead State and also has wins over Tusculum (3-2) and Liberty (4-1).
EKU has posted a 7-5 record thus far, but is also entering Wednesday's affair with a three-game losing skid, falling 4-1 to Jacksonville, 4-1 to Florida International and 4-1 to host North Florida in the Duuuval Duals with a 4-1 win over Mercer.
Georgia State comes in with a 5-8 mark. After starting off 4-1, the Panthers dropped seven straight – 5-0 to No. 9 Arizona State, 4-1 to Oregon, 5-0 to No. 17 Grand Canyon, 5-0 to No. 20 Arizona, 4-1 to No. 4 Cal Poly, 5-0 to Tulane and 4-1 to No. 15 Florida Atlantic – before breaking the streak with a 3-2 victory over Coastal Carolina.
The Panthers are led by their No. 1 pairing of Savannah Ebarb and Bella Troncale, who have a 6-7 overall mark on the season, while Michaela Jefferson and Ellie Neville is 4-7 primarily from the No. 2 spot. Noalani Nuez and Kate Phelan (4-3) are 4-1 from the No. 5 spot and are currently on a three-match winning streak.
