COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Freshman sprinter Kennedi Winbush of Tennessee Tech has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week after a standout showing at the Tennessee Invite, marking the best outdoor performance of her young collegiate career.
Competing against a deep and competitive field in Knoxville, Winbush turned in two personal-best efforts, posting times of 11.72 in the 100 meters and 23.83 in the 200 meters. She finished seventh in both events.
Her 100-meter mark ranks as the second-fastest time in the OVC this season, while her 200-meter performance leads the conference, further establishing her as one of the league's top sprint contenders heading into the championship stretch.
Winbush continues to build on an impressive debut campaign after claiming the OVC indoor title in the 60 meters, solidifying her status as one of the conference's premier sprinters.
The Golden Eagles return to action April 24-25 at the Catamount Classic as they continue preparations for the 2026 OVC Outdoor Championships.
