Former Tech wide receiver Larry Shipp is continuing to catch passes and score touchdowns. Now with the Alabama VIpers, Shipp was recently named the Player of the Week for the Arena Football League.
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama Vipers wide receiver Larry
Shipp’s performance during his team's recent 63-54 victory at
Utah didn’t go unnoticed by the Arena Football League.
Shipp’s eight catches for 199 yards and four touchdowns have
earned him the AFL’s Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the
Week award.
A former Tennessee Tech standout, Shipp (5-foot-9, 188 pounds)
accounted for almost half of Alabama’s offense and snagged
all but one of the five touchdown passes thrown by quarterback
Kevin Eakin.
Shipp was a three-time winner of Tech's prestigious Robert Hill
Johnson Award during his record-setting career as a Golden
Eagle.
