Brief ceremony Wednesday in Eagles Nest for "Dog" Daggett
A brief, informal memorial ceremony will be held Wednesday afternoon in the Eagles Nest in Eblen Center for John "Dog" Daggett, who passed away last week.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- A brief, informal memorial ceremony will be
held Wednesday afternoon for John "Dog" Daggett, 65, who passed
away on Monday, Nov. 23. Daggett served as the equipment manager
for the Golden Eagle football team for the past three years.
The ceremony, which is open to the public, will be held at 2:15
p.m. Originally scheduled to be held in Tucker Stadium, the event
has been moved indoors to the Eagles Nest in Eblen Center. Parking
will be available in the South Lot at Eblen Center.
Daggett began serving as equipment manager under coach Watson
Brown at UAB beginning in 1996, and moved to Tech with Brown in
2007. He was born in West Point, Miss., November 24, 1943.
In 1982 he was recognized with the Glenn Sharp Award as the
equipment manager of the year by the Athletic Equipment Managers
Association, and spent his life working with the sport of football
with numerous collegiate and professional teams.
"Dog was a kind-hearted man who worked tirelessly to provide a positive experience for our football student-athletes," said Director of Athletics Mark Wilson. "He was an avid football fan and visible on the sidelines with his boots and cowboy hat at every TTU football game."
