Softball team plays four games at Louisville Tournament this weekend
Tory Acheson seeks 700th career coaching victory
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tech softball team will head to Louisville
this weekend to play four games, hoping to hand head coach Tory
Acheson his 700th career coaching victory. The Golden Eagle coach
earned his 699th win last weekend, but the next three games were
cancelled at the Frost Classic in Chattanooga.
Tech opens the weekend with a game against Ohio at 9 a.m. Saturday,
then faces No. 20 Louisville at 1 p.m. On Sunday, the Golden Eagles
are scheduled to play Michigan at 1 p.m., followed by another clash
with the host Cardinals. Tech heads to the tournametn with a 6-10
overall record.
The Ohio Bobcats come to the tournament with a 7-6 overall record,
while Michigan is 13-5 and Louisville is 14-2. The game with Ohio
will be the first meeting between the two teams, Tech is 0-1
against Michigan and 1-3 against Louisville.
