Tech ranked No. 21 in Stats Perform FCS preseason Top 25
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – As the Tennessee Tech football team took to the field this morning for the first practice session of fall camp, the Golden Eagles left the field with a new accolade – a preseason Top 25 ranking. Stats Perform unveiled its preseason FCS Top 25 poll Monday morning and the Golden Eagles were picked 21st overall in the rankings. Tech was the only OVC-Big South team to make the cut as Southeast Missouri, UT Martin and Tennessee State – the other teams to share last season’s conference championship with the Golden Eagles – were among the others receiving votes.

Stats Perform unveiled its preseason FCS Top 25 poll Monday morning and the Golden Eagles were picked 21st overall in the rankings. Tech was the only OVC-Big South team to make the cut as Southeast Missouri, UT Martin and Tennessee State – the other teams to share last season's conference championship with the Golden Eagles – were among the others receiving votes.

Tech was picked the preseason favorite in the OVC-Big South before last month's conference media day and has seen several accolades for Golden Eagle players, including All-America honors and a Buck Buchanan Preseason Watch List pick for graduate defensive back Tim Coutras.
This marks Tech's first appearance in the Stats Perform FCS poll since the spring season of 2021.
The Golden Eagles open the season on August 30 against Cumberland for the first of seven home games this season at Tucker Stadium as Tech looks to win the OVC-Big South title outright.
