Tech soccer adds incoming freshman Laila McNamee
The Tennessee Tech soccer team rounds out its 2025 roster with the addition of another Golden Eagle incoming freshman.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech soccer team rounds out its 2025 roster with the addition of another Golden Eagle incoming freshman.
TTU head coach Corey Boyd and his staff announced the addition of Laila McNamee, an incoming freshman goalkeeper out of Germantown, Tenn.
A two-sport athlete during her days at Houston High School in Germantown, McNamee was also a small forward on the basketball team. On the pitch, the incoming Golden Eagle rookie excelled between the pipes, heling guide her team to a state title in 2024 where she was named state championship MVP.
"Laila is a goalkeeper with a huge upside," Tech head coach Corey Boyd claimed. "She is athletic, tall, has good instincts, comes off her line well, is good on crosses and comes from a really competitive high school where she made a couple of saves in penalties to help lead her team to a state championship to go along with a strong club background as well.
"Laila now comes into an environment with two experienced goalkeepers along with Maggie [Conrad] and Addison [Johnson] and will learn a lot from both of them and compete. Good goalkeepers are hard to find and we are excited about Laila and know she will be a great fit with our program."
Along with her state championship MVP accolade, McNamee also took home multiple all-district honors as well as first-team all-metro recognition. The Germantown, Tenn. product also had successful and lengthy club stints with Futsal Escola and the Lady Lobos Rush Premier.
Academically, McNamee was a member of the National Beta Club, the National Honor Society, the Honors Academy and the National Spanish Honor Society.
