COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- With its recent surge over the past few weeks, the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team will look to claim its fifth Ohio Valley Conference road win of the season Saturday as it takes on Tennessee State.

The opening tip is set for 5:30 p.m., with the men's game set to follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of the women's game.

This will be the 58th meeting between the Golden Eagles and Tigers, with TTU owning the series edge 47-10. At the Gentry Center, the Golden Eagles have put up an impressive record on 20-4 and won 76-62 in their last visit to TSU last season.

Tech defeated Tennessee State earlier this season 80-71 at home in the Eblen Center behind a pair of strong showings from senior Tacarra Hayes and sophomore Jala Harris. Hayes posted a game-high 27 points and seven rebounds, while Harris added 22 points, behind a 4-of-7 showing from three-point land.

In their last five games the Golden Eagles have put together a 4-1 record, with all four of their wins coming on the road. During that stretch senior Rachel Glidden has averaged 10.3 points per game and has connected on 14-of-24 attempts from beyond the arc.

Tennessee State (8-17, 4-9 OVC) is currently on a four-game losing streak with losses to UT Martin, Eastern Kentucky, Southeast Missouri and Murray State. TSU is 5-5 at home this season.

Jasmin Shuler leads the Tiger offense this season, averaging 15.1 points per game. Tayla Foster is averaging 9.8 points and a team-leading 5.1 rebounds per game.

The Golden Eagles return home Monday as they host Eastern Illinois at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the game can be purchased at the Athletic Ticket Office in Eblen Center, or by calling (931) 372-3940.
