Women's basketball team to welcome Millionth Fan in Eblen Center
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- One lucky fan who attends Tennessee Tech's women's basketball Monday night will be rewarded for the loyalty of the team's many fans throughout the years by being recognized as the team's Millionth Fan in Eblen Center.
Coach Sytia Messer's squad hosts Tennessee Wesleyan at 7 p.m.
Since the arena opened in 1977-78, Tech's women's basketball teams have drawn an average of more than 2,000 per game. That leaves the current team just 151 fans short of 1,000,000 fans.
Tech Athletics will be monitoring the entry gates at the arena during the game, and the millionth fan will be found and presented later in the game with a gift basket as they represent all million fans who have supported the teams under coaches Marynell Meadors, Bill Worrell, Amy Brown and now, Sytia Messer.
