Tech travels to Cape Girardeau for pair of tilts with OVC-leading SEMO
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech volleyball team hits the road for a two-day visit in Cape Girardeau, Mo., taking on first-place Southeast Missouri in a pair of Ohio Valley Conference match-ups on Friday and Saturday.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech volleyball team hits the road for a two-day visit in Cape Girardeau, Mo., taking on first-place Southeast Missouri in a pair of Ohio Valley Conference match-ups on Friday and Saturday.
Friday's tilt is slated for a 6:00 p.m. CT start while Saturday's contest is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+. The contest will pit the purple and gold against a Redhawk team that boasts a 9-1 mark in league play this season, boosted by an eight-match win streak in OVC matches.

National Level
The purple and gold rank 11th in the country in kills per set (14.09), 19th in assists per set (12.92), and 21st in opponent hitting percentage (.162). Senior outside hitter Madolyn Isringhausen ranks fifth nationally with 4.87 kills per set, eighth with 5.48 points per set, eighth in total kills (380), and ninth in the country in points (427.5), while junior setter Jordan Karlen ranks fifth in the nation in assists per set with a mark of 11.23 and 13th with 876 total assists.
Playing Outside
Senior outside hitter Madolyn Isringhausen was a killing machine for the Golden Eagles over the weekend, averaging 5.50 terminations per set and 6.00 points per set. In Friday's tilt with Little Rock, the senior dropped a career-high 26 spikes, tying for the third most in a four-set match in the rally-scoring era in Tech history. She added two aces and two blocks for good measure, averaging 6.5 kills per set. The outsider hitter followed it up with 18 kills on a .271 attack with two more blocks in Saturday's affair. The senior has taken home OVC Offensive Player of the Week honors five times on the year. In Friday's contest, she became just the third Golden Eagle in program history to record 1,500 terminations in their career.
Setting Things Up
Junior setter Jordan Karlen kept herself plenty busy over the weekend for the purple and gold, averaging nearly a kill per set, a whopping 13.00 assists per set, 4.38 digs per set, and 0.50 blocks per set. In Friday's affair with Little Rock, the junior amassed 50 helpers with five kills, and a career-high 23 digs for her 11th double-double of the year. The Janesville, Wis. native followed it up with 54 assists, two kills, an ace, 12 digs, and four blocks on Saturday, notching her 12th double-double. For her efforts, she was named OVC Setter of the Week for the fourth time on the year. In Friday's match-up with the Trojans, she became just the sixth Golden Eagle to reach 3,000 assists for their career.
Karlen ranks first in program history with her 10 OVC Setter of the Week honors, sporting four more than any other Golden Eagle. She also boasts 13 total weekly awards from the league in her career, having earned a trio of Freshman of the Week nods on her way to OVC Freshman of the Year in 2022. Those 13 honors also represent the most by a Golden Eagle for a career.
Floor General
Senior libero McKenna Young continued to lead the Golden Eagle defense, registering 34 digs over the weekend. The Murfreesboro averaged 4.25 scoops per set in Tech's two-match stint against Little Rock, chipping in six assists and two service aces. Young sits just 91 digs away from becoming just the second player in program history to reach 2,000 in their career.
Freshman Focus
Rookie outside Alayna Pierce piled up 24 kills over the weekend, averaging 3.00 per set while accounting for 2.50 digs and 3.38 points per set. In Friday's contest against Little Rock, the rookie tallied 16 terminations with two aces, a block, and 12 digs, producing her fourth double-double on the year. She added eight kills, eight digs, and another rejection in Saturday's match. The Genoa, Ill. native has earned OVC Freshman of the Week accolades twice this season.
