Isringhausen, Karlen take home OVC Offensive, Setter of the Week honors
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Following a record-breaking weekend that resulted in a 3-0 record, a 9-0 mark in sets played, and the Carrie Yerty Classic title, Tennessee Tech’s Madolyn Isringhausen and Jordan Karlen were recognized by the Ohio Valley Conference Monday afternoon for their performances on the volleyball court.

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Following a record-breaking weekend that resulted in a 3-0 record, a 9-0 mark in sets played, and the Carrie Yerty Classic title, Tennessee Tech's Madolyn Isringhausen and Jordan Karlen were recognized by the Ohio Valley Conference Monday afternoon for their performances on the volleyball court.
Isringhausen took home her first career OVC Offensive Player of the Week award, capturing the honor after claiming MVP honors at the Carrie Yerty Classic in Memphis. The senior was an unstoppable force while leading Tech to a perfect 3-0 weekend without dropping a set, piling up 48 kills (5.33/set) while hitting a robust .354.
A native of Edwardsville, Ill., Isringhausen dropped 18 kills with a pair of aces and five digs in the opening win over Austin Peay before smashing .382 with 15 kills, an ace, and nine digs in the sweep over host Memphis. She rounded out the weekend with 15 more terminations and a gaudy .500 attack percentage with two more aces in the win over Mississippi Valley State.
Karlen was named the OVC Setter of the Week, sharing the honor with Lindenwood's Allie Otten. It marked the seventh such accolade of her career. The junior directed a red-hot Tech offense to a hitting percentage of .262 across the three sweeps, piling up 93 assists for an average of 10.33 per set.
The two-time All-OVC setter opened the year with a double-double of 26 assists and 14 digs, chipping in three blocks for good measure. She upped the helping hand in the second match, doling out 34 assists with three kills and five digs in the sweep over Memphis. Karlen ended the weekend with 33 more assists and five more digs in yet another sweep, earning All-Tournament honors.
The purple and gold heads will now head east for the Charlotte Invitational, running Friday, Sept. 6 through Saturday, Sept. 7 at Charlotte. After squaring off with the 49ers in a 9:00 a.m. opener on Friday, Tech will return to the court for a 3:30 p.m. appointment with Towson. The weekend concludes for the Golden Eagles on Saturday morning with a 9:00 match versus Delaware State.
