Tech soccer drops first of two-game Ohio road trip
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Tennessee Tech soccer team opened up
its weekend road trip Friday at Bowling Green, falling to the
Falcons 7-0.
Bowling Green (2-2-2), who lost on penalty kicks in the 2007
Mid-American Conference championship, took a 4-0 lead into
halftime, before tacking on three second half goals.
Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Schaedig saw her first action of the
season, playing all 45 minutes of the second half after replacing
fellow freshman Kaitlyn Thacker. Each keeper had four saves.
The Golden Eagles (1-5-0) stay in Ohio Sunday to face defending MAC
champion Toledo (2-1-0). Toledo has shutout wins against Cleveland
State and DePaul, and fell to Boston College 5-2.
Tech plays UT Chattanooga in Chattanooga on Wednesday, Sept. 17,
before returning to Tech Soccer field to host UNC Asheville on
Sunday, Sept. 21.
