Tech finishes the 2025 campaign with a 14-17 record, including an 11-7 record in its final season in the OVC.
CHARLESTON, Ill. – When Southern Indiana and Tennessee Tech locked horns in the regular season, the visiting team came through in both matches. So when the two teams play Sunday in the opening round of the Ohio Valley Conference Volleyball Championship, the trend will have to change as they square off on the campus of Eastern Illinois. The No. 6-seeded Golden Eagles will take on the No. 3-seeded Screaming Eagles on Sunday at 1 PM.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech started off strong, taking the first set against the visiting Eastern Illinois squad, but the Panthers surged back to take the match 3-1. With the victory, EIU claimed the Ohio Valley Conference regular-season championship and will host the league’s tournament, which starts Sunday in Charleston, Ill.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech showed it is still very much a force in the Ohio Valley Conference as the Golden Eagles handed league-leader Eastern Illinois its third conference loss of the season as Tech swept the Panthers 3-0 on Tuesday night. The Golden Eagles (14-15, 11-6 OVC) claimed the first set 25-22, the second 26-24 and the third 25-20 to complete the sweep. It was a tight contest despite the sweep as the three sets saw 24 tie scores and just six lead changes – four coming in the second set.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It’s down to the final two matches of the regular season and Tennessee Tech will be facing a tough test as the Golden Eagles face off against the Ohio Valley Conference’s top team with Eastern Illinois coming to town. Tuesday’s match will be at 6 PM, while Wednesday’s finale will be at 4 PM. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required) with Mandy Thatcher on the call.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Bella Powell led Tennessee Tech with 14 kills, but Little Rock was able to top the Golden Eagles in four sets on Friday night. Tech (13-15, 10-6 Ohio Valley Conference) falls back into a three-way tie for fourth with the Trojans and Southeast Missouri. Eastern Illinois, who the Golden Eagles play on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Eblen Center to close out the regular season, moved into a one-game lead at 14-2 over Morehead State (13-3) with Southern Indiana at 12-4.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Tennessee Tech won the first two sets and looked to be in cruise control, but Little Rock battled back, stunning the Golden Eagles in the third and fourth sets to force the decider. Even then, it took extra points in the fifth set for Tech to emerge victorious on Thursday night, winning 3-2. Tech led 14-10 in the fifth, needing just one point to end the match, but the Trojans tied the match on two straight blocks, a kill and an attack error. Dariana Valencia had a serve error to put Tech up 15-14, then A’lanae Margaritha evened things back up again with a kill.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The final week of the Ohio Valley Conference volleyball regular season has arrived. Tennessee Tech enters the week with four matches on tap with a two-match set on the road at Little Rock on Thursday and Friday, then a two-match set at home next Tuesday and Wednesday. The Trojans and the Golden Eagles enter tomorrow’s matchup with identical 9-5 records in league play with Little Rock holding on to a 14-12 overall record and Tech 12-14.
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – After a slow start, the Tennessee Tech volleyball team dropped the first set, then took the next three to take the return trip to Southern Indiana, winning 3-1. Alayna Pierce led the way with 17 kills as she hit .500 on the night, while collecting nine digs. Bella Powell had a double-double with 10 kills and 17 digs, while Jordyn Milhouse had 10 kills on a .348 hitting percentage as she also collected two solo blocks and three assisted.
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Tennessee Tech has been able to put some wins together in the last five matches, but in the middle of that stretch, a 3-0 loss last week at home against Southern Indiana looms. The Golden Eagles will get a chance to avenge that loss on Wednesday as Tech makes the return trip to visit the Screaming Eagles in their nest for a 6 PM game.
