The Golden Eagles found themselves on the short end of an 83-61 defeat at the hands of Southeast Missouri, dropping Tech to 15-14 on the year – giving the Golden Eagles their eighth-straight winning season – and 8-12 in the league.
MARTIN, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team got a much-needed win on Thursday night to keep their hopes of an Ohio Valley Conference tournament bid alive as the Golden Eagles rallied back in the second half to beat UT Martin 80-68. CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Saturday is certainly not the situation that Tennessee Tech women’s basketball is used to. The Golden Eagles are trying to punch their ticket to Evansville for next week’s Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Championships – and it’s down to the last day. Tech certainly isn’t taking it as a negative, but an opportunity. It gives the Golden Eagles the lesson to not take their historic success at face value. It places the importance of being there to defend their title. The Golden Eagles are hungry – and they know Southeast Missouri is too.
MARTIN, Tenn. – The final week of the Ohio Valley Conference regular season has arrived and it’s still a lot to be answered when it comes to the tournament field. The task at hand for the Tennessee Tech women, however, is just to lock down their spot in the field for next week’s tournament in Evansville. It all starts with a showdown in Martin on Thursday as the Golden Eagles take on the Skyhawks from the Elam Center. Tipoff is set for 5:30 PM Thursday. Dylan Vazzano and Frank Harrell will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while the game will also be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required).
From late October to early April, the basketball season is a long journey. Over that stretch, triumphant moments endure, adversity becomes a teacher, and everything builds toward the ultimate goal — raising a championship trophy and cutting down the nets. As Tennessee Tech approaches its final home game of the season, it’s a bittersweet moment. There is still more basketball to be played and postseason play to strive for, but it is also a time of reflection as the seniors look back on the sunset of their collegiate careers.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech closed out its final home game in the 2025-26 season honoring its four seniors with moments of laughter and joy as well as tears not for the contest that had just closed, but for their teammates who are on the sunset of their collegiate careers. While Saturday’s 70-57 loss to Lindenwood stung, it was about the camaraderie of the day.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It’s the culmination of a long season as the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team will conclude the home portion of its schedule on Saturday as the Golden Eagles host preseason favorite Lindenwood on Saturday. The visiting Lions are certainly trying to uphold their end of the bargain, but are trying to get past Western Illinois at the top of the standings, just a game back from the Leathernecks.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – SIUE just could not miss and it put the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team in a quick hole in the first quarter they just could not recover from on Thursday night as the visitors came away with a 76-60 win at the Eblen Center. With the loss, Tech drops to 14-12 on the season, 7-10 in the Ohio Valley Conference. SIUE improves to 13-14 after sweeping the season series, improving to 6-11 in the conference race.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – As the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team enters the final home weekend of the regular season, the Golden Eagles look to make one last push up the Ohio Valley Conference standings. They’ll get their chance to avenge one of their losses on Thursday as SIUE comes into the Eblen Center. Tipoff is set for 5:30 PM. EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The first half was a battle as Tennessee Tech and Southern Indiana fought to a 34-34 draw at the intermission. The third quarter, however, was a different story. The host Screaming Eagles forced four Tech turnovers to create a 10-point run before the media timeout. By the time the stanza ended, USI had outscored Tech 25-10.
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – It’ll be a showdown on a national stage on Saturday as the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team takes on Southern Indiana live on ESPNU. Dylan Vazzano will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while Dorian Craft and Tabitha Turner will handle broadcast duties on ESPNU.
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Thursday night felt like it was a late-round game in the Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Championships. The bout between Tennessee Tech and Morehead State had drama, excitement and a photo finish. It had March emotion in February. In the end, Tennessee Tech prevailed 61-58. It wasn’t pretty. It was survive and advance basketball at its finest.
MOREHEAD, Ky. – The last time Tennessee Tech faced Morehead State, the visiting Eagles edged the Golden Eagles by the slimmest of margins. Now, with some momentum behind their tailfeathers, the Tennessee Tech squad is looking to keep climbing in the standings as they head to Johnson Arena to take on Morehead State on Thursday. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 PM Central/5 PM Eastern. Dylan Vazzano and Frank Harrell will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while the game will also be carried on ESPN+ (subscription required).
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Trailing by 15 points in the third quarter, things looked grim for the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team on Saturday. But the Golden Eagles persevered with a tremendous performance from freshman LaReesha Cawthorn as she powered Tech back with 27 points and 27 rebounds – both career-highs – as the home team worked their way back to force overtime then claim the 75-70 victory. Cawthorn’s 27 rebounds tied Pam Cassity for the fourth-most in a single game in Tech history and is the most by a Golden Eagle player since the 1975-76 campaign. Cassity held eight of the top 10 performances – all in the 1975-76 season. It’s the most in Ohio Valley Conference play since Southeast Missouri’s Lachelle Lyles pulled down 32 against Tennessee State on Dec. 7, 2006.
As Tennessee Tech women’s basketball suits up for Saturday’s contest against Eastern Illinois, it won’t be in the traditional colors of Purple and Gold. Instead, with their minds on those in their lives affected by cancer as the team hosts its annual ThinkPink and Play4Kay game, the Panthers won’t be the only thing the Golden Eagles are looking to defeat. Tipoff from the Eblen Center is at 1 PM Saturday. Saturday’s game will honor those who have been affected by all forms of cancer, as every member of the Golden Eagle women’s basketball program will be playing, coaching or serving in honor of someone dear to them who has been impacted by the disease.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – As Western Illinois comes into the Hooper Eblen Center on Thursday night, it’s the Fighting Leathernecks that have the target placed squarely on their backs as they currently reside in the top spot in the Ohio Valley Conference. And if Tennessee Tech can knock off WIU Thursday night, it will go a long way towards making the OVC race a lot more interesting.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After getting back in the win column over Little Rock on Saturday, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team will be back in action on Monday as they take on Tennessee State. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 PM. Dylan Vazzano and Frank Harrell will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while the game will also be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required).
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Mired in their losing streak, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball coaches saw Saturday’s game as a chance to shake things up to try to revitalize the lineup. Oh, boy, did it pay off.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – When Tennessee Tech traveled to Little Rock to begin the 2026 portion of the schedule, things were looking up for the Golden Eagles. Tech was heading to the conference’s Western boundary with a 10-2 record following a 6-0 December and things were looking bright. Thirty-one days later and it’s been a tough ride as the Trojans won 51-44 on New Year’s Day. Since then, it’s been seven straight losses with an average margin of 6.3 points with two one-point losses, a two-point loss and a five-point loss with a game that went to overtime.
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Tennessee Tech went on a 13-2 run to get back within reach of SIUE on Saturday afternoon, but the furious comeback was stopped just short as the host Cougars claimed a 67-62 victory. Tech falls to 10-9, 3-7 in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday at Tennessee State, weather permitting. Reagan Hurst led Tech in scoring with 17 points as she was 4-for-8 from the field with two 3-pointers and a 7-for-7 effort at the line. Chloe Larry had 16 points, while LaReesha Cawthorn narrowly missed a double-double with 10 points and eight rebounds to go with five steals and a block. Cam Mathews and Reghan Grimes each had nine points. Lauren Miller led SIUE (10-10, 3-7 OVC) with 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting, while Syanne Mohamed was 6-for-8 from the field and 3-for-4 at the line to collect a double-double with 15 points and 15 boards. Kiyoko Proctor had 13 points and Macy Silvey had 11 on 4-for-8 shooting with a trio of 3-pointers. SIUE won the first quarter, outscoring Tech 15-9. The margin didn’t change at the intermission as both teams scored 17 points. The Cougars extended their lead by three with an 18-15 third quarter. SIUE’s largest lead of the game came in the third as it led by 12 midway through the period. With Tech’s 13-2 outburst in the fourth, Mathews brought the Golden Eagles back within one with 3:05 remaining in the contest. After SIUE surged back out by seven with 48 seconds left, Larry hit a 3-pointer and Grimes a layup – sandwiching a made free throw to get back within three at 62-59 with 31 seconds left. Miller connected on a pair of free throws, but Mathews hit a clutch 3-pointer at 25 seconds remaining to make it 64-62. However, Miller and Mohamed hit free throws to secure the final margin. Tech was able to force 16 SIUE turnovers to convert into 26 points and create 14 second-chance points. The Golden Eagles finished the game shooting 22-for-63 – 34.9 percent – from the field, hitting -for-18 from long range (44.4 percent) and 10-for-12 at the line (83.3 percent). Tickets for Tennessee Tech basketball are on sale now – call (931) 372-3940, visit the Hooper Eblen Center ticket office or order online at TTUsports.com.
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Tennessee Tech’s record in the Ohio Valley Conference is misleading. With a 3-6 mark in league play, the Golden Eagles need some momentum heading into the midway point of the conference race. After all, Tech is just four points separated from six victories in the conference. Six wins would put the Golden Eagles in a tie for third well within striking distance – and Tech is just points from being right there.
ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Every time Tennessee Tech was able to get back to a tie score or took the lead against Lindenwood on Thursday night, the host Lions just kept finding a way back up front. Then, the hosts outscored the Golden Eagles 26-15 in the fourth quarter after a 40-40 tie at the end of the third to claim a 66-55 victory over Tech on Thursday night.
ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The last time Tennessee Tech faced Lindenwood, the game ended with the Golden Eagle women raising the Ohio Valley Conference championship trophy. There’s no doubt that the host Lions remember that moment well as Tech heads to Hyland Arena on Thursday to take on Lindenwood.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech just needed to hold on for another second. On the home end of the court, Chloe Larry drained a driving layup to knot Saturday’s contest against Morehead State at 66-all. The defense was holding strong until Laura Toffali found an opening for a 3-point try. The shot was no good, but the officials called a foul on the play, sending the .651 shooter to the line with just nine-tenths of a second remaining on the clock.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It’s been a while since the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team has stood in its current situation. After four straight conference losses – the first streak of that caliber since 2019-20 – the Golden Eagles are ready to reverse their recent fortunes as Morehead State comes to town on Saturday. Tipoff Saturday is set for 1 PM. Dylan Vazzano and Frank Harrell are on the call on ESPN+ (subscription required), while Noah McKay and Steve Smith will narrate the action on 106.1 The Eagle.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Battle sums up Tennessee Tech’s night against the Southern Indiana women at the Eblen Center Thursday. From start to finish, it was back and forth, squaring up at the end of the third and then again at the end of regulation. However, it all became a sprint in the overtime session and the Screaming Eagles took the lead with 25 seconds to go in the extra period, staving off the Golden Eagles to take a 71-69 win.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It’s good to be back home. After a tough start to January, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team is back in the Hooper Eblen Center, ready to get back to business. However, Southern Indiana isn’t going to make defending the Golden Eagles’ 27-game home winning streak easy when the two lock horns on Thursday night. Tipoff is set for 5:30 PM. Dylan Vazzano and Steve Smith will have the call on ESPN+ (subscription required), while Noah McKay and Frank Harrell will describe the action on 106.1 The Eagle.
MACOMB, Ill. – Tennessee Tech put up a fight Saturday at Western Illinois, but the high-powered offense of the host Leathernecks proved tough to handle as WIU claimed a 77-60 victory at Western Hall. Now, the Golden Eagles (10-5, 3-3 Ohio Valley Conference) return home with Southern Indiana looming on the horizon.
MACOMB, Ill. – As the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team enters Saturday’s contest, the Golden Eagles are in a little bit of unfamiliar territory. After back-to-back losses to open the new year against Little Rock and Eastern Illinois – only the second time in the last two seasons, the Golden Eagles are determined to end the skid and get back on track. They’ll attempt to do that Saturday as they take on Western Illinois at 1 PM. Dylan Vazzano and Frank Harrell will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while the game will also be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required).
CHARLESTON, Ill. – After falling down by as many as nine points close to the end of the third quarter, Tennessee Tech roared back and retook a late lead. However, Eastern Illinois had the taste of victory in its mouth and used a late steal and free throws to retake a 75-74 lead with just seconds remaining.
CHARLESTON, Ill. – After a tough loss to open up the year at Little Rock, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team has had a week to learn from it and move forward. The sights are now set on their next opponent – Eastern Illinois. The two teams will square off on Thursday at 5 PM at EIU’s Groniger Arena. Dylan Vazzano and Frank Harrell will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while the game will be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required).
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Thursday’s contest at Little Rock certainly was uncharacteristic as the home squad’s defense made the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team work for every point. The Golden Eagles tried to rally in the final quarter, but it just wasn’t enough as Little Rock held on for a 51-44 victory. Tech falls to 10-3 overall, 3-1 in the Ohio Valley Conference, while the Trojans improve to 6-7 on the season, 2-1 in the league.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Tennessee Tech looks to ring in the New Year on a high note as the Golden Eagles travel to Little Rock for a 3 PM matinee on Thursday. However, there’s no love lost between these two teams as they’ve battled in the seven meetings between them since the Trojans joined the Ohio Valley Conference. Noah McKay and Frank Harrell will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while the game will also be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required).
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – No one ever said getting wins was pretty. The Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team battled throughout Tuesday’s 69-63 victory over Tennessee State, but the Golden Eagles prevailed to extend their home winning streak to 27 games and their Ohio Valley Conference regular-season winning streak to 18. Tech (10-2, 3-0 OVC) wraps up December with a perfect 6-0 record and finishes the 2025 calendar year with a 29-4 record with two of the losses coming to South Carolina in the NCAA tournament and USC in November.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech is sure going to be sad to see 2025 go – multiple winning streaks, two Ohio Valley Conference championships, an NCAA tournament appearance and starting the 2025-26 season at 9-2 – the team’s best start since 1989-90. So as the Tech women close out 2025 on Tuesday night against Tennessee State, the Golden Eagles are looking to tie a bow on the calendar year with a victory over the Tigers.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech started off the Ohio Valley Conference race with a strong performance Thursday against Southeast Missouri. Now the Golden Eagles will try to keep it going on Saturday as they host UT Martin on Saturday at the Hooper Eblen Center. Tipoff for the game is slated for 1 PM. Dylan Vazzano and Steve Smith will have the call on ESPN+ (subscription required), while Craig Cantrell and Frank Harrell will narrate the action on 106.1 The Eagle.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Cam Mathews put herself in some elite company on Thursday night as the Tulsa transfer put on a show in Tennessee Tech’s Ohio Valley Conference opener, scoring 34 points as the Golden Eagles topped Southeast Missouri 79-66. The victory extends Tech’s program-record home winning streak to 25 games.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech’s final season in the Ohio Valley Conference gets underway on Thursday night as the Golden Eagles entertain Southeast Missouri. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 PM at the Hooper Eblen Center.
