Track and field set for SIU Invitational this weekend
Tennessee Tech resumes its indoor season this weekend as it travels to the SIU Invitational at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill. The meet is the Golden Eagles’ final regular-season event of the indoor season.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech resumes its indoor season this weekend as it travels to the SIU Invitational at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill. The meet is the Golden Eagles' final regular-season event of the indoor season.
Tech began its season last weekend at the Niswonger Invitational at East Tennessee State, with several Golden Eagles notching personal-bests and others competing collegiately for the first time.
The meet will get under way on Friday at 4 p.m. with the weight throw, long jump, and pole vault. Competition will continue on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. with the remaining field events, while the running events begin at 10:30 a.m.
Tech will be facing 11 other schools inside the SIU Recreational Center, including Ohio Valley Conference competitors Austin Peay, Murray State, Southeast Missouri and Tennessee-Martin. Central Arkansas and Southern Indiana are also among the field of competitors along with the host team.
The Golden Eagles will be making a return trip to SIU after opening their season in Carbondale in 2010-11, a meet at which they set several school records.
Tech will take 23 athletes to the meet, including Harley Roach (weight throw, shot put), Katie Lowery (pole vault), Kelli Keck (long jump, triple jump), Lacy Yslas (shot put), Madison Borden (shot put), Erin Keyes (high jump), Haley Grinder (60m), Justine Phillips (60m), Brooklyn Kimball (60m), Kara Webb (mile), Leah Bradley (mile), Traci Jones (mile, 800m, 3000m), Rebecca Cline (mile), Brittney Brown (mile, 3000m), Kathryn Forbes (mile, 800m), Emily Williams (mile, 3000m), Emily Weinzetl (400m, 800m), Brittany Cotto (400m), Elisa Tanksley (400m), Jenna Philpott (400m), Dalis Connell (800m), Beth Miller (3000m) and Meghan O'Donoghue (3000m).
