Tennessee Tech Cross Country set for Southern Showcase
Tennessee Tech men's and women's cross country is set to compete in the Southern Showcase hosted by Jacksonville State in Huntsville, Alabama.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Tennessee Tech men's and women's cross country is set to compete in the Southern Showcase hosted by Jacksonville State in Huntsville, Alabama.
The Golden Eagles look to build off their top five finishes in men's and women's cross country at the Covered Bridge Open on Aug. 29. The men's 8k will begin at 7:30 a.m. CT and the women's 5k starts at 8:30 a.m. CT, on Friday, Sept. 12. The race will take place at John Hunt Cross Country Park, which is a championship caliber cross country course that accommodates high school, NCAA, and USA Track & Field training and competition.
At The Covered Bridge Open, the women's team finished 5th with 133 points, trailing South Carolina (1st: 18 pts), Georgia (2nd: 47 pts), Appalachian State (3rd: 82 pts), and College of Charleston (4th: 115 pts). Naomy Lokiles led the women's team with a time of 18:25.1, finishing 24th overall.
The men's team finished third with 73 total points, trailing Georgia (1st: 15), Appalachian State (2nd: 47).
Carter Bradford paced the Golden Eagles, finishing 11th to lead the team with a time of 18:35.7 in the 6K. Zak Myles-Hawkins finished second on the men's team and 15th overall with a time of 18:51.42. Luca Gambling finished third on the men's team and 16th overall with a time of 18:56.71. Nic Chambers joined his teammates in the top 20 in 18th with a time of 19:04.37.
Cruz Hesling finished 28th overall with a time of 19:31.89, Dante Torres finished 31st with a time of 19:41.85.
