Miller joins Tech women's basketball signing class
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech head women’s basketball coach Kim Rosamond announced the signing of 6-2 forward Sofi Miller on the second day of the NCAA’s early signing period. A highly versatile and skilled player who will complete her senior year at The First Academy in Orlando, Fla., Miller will bring size, strength, and an impressive basketball IQ to the 2025-26 roster as she returns to her home state of Tennessee to begin her collegiate career. Throughout her high school career, Miller has already established herself as a top-tier player in Florida. Her impressive list of accolades heading into her senior season include being named FACA Class 3A District 11 Player of the Year and earning a spot on the Orlando Sentinel All-Area Basketball Team. The versatile forward surpassed the 1,000-point milestone during her junior season, cementing her status as one of Florida’s most consistent scorers. Miller averaged 14 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and four blocks per game during her junior campaign at Sarasota High School.

Miller is no stranger to basketball excellence. She comes from a strong basketball family, with her mother, Radhika Dishman, having played at Clarkrange High School and the University of North Alabama. Radhika went on to have a long and successful coaching career at Cumberland County High School before the family relocated to Florida where Sofi spent the last three seasons playing for her mother at Windermere Prep and Sarasota High School.
"It's truly a full circle moment to have Sofi join the Tennessee Tech family," Coach Rosamond shared. "We have had the privilege of watching her grow from a young girl shadowing her mom at our camps to the dominant player she is today. Sofi is the complete package and brings a unique combination of size, skill, exceptional work ethic and passion for the game. She's a dynamic scorer, a dominant rebounder and shot blocker. Sofi embodies the team-first mentality, toughness, commitment, and character we value at Tech. Being able to welcome her back to represent her home state and our program is incredibly special."
For Miller, the decision to return to Tennessee and join the Golden Eagles was a special one. "I've always felt a strong connection to Tennessee Tech," Miller said. "Growing up in Tennessee, I loved attending TTU Women's Basketball games with my family and participating in team camps during the summer. I knew then that TTU was a special place, and I've always admired Coach Rosamond and her staff. I'm excited to continue my athletic and academic career at Tennessee Tech. It's the right place for me to grow as a player and as a person, and I'm looking forward to being a part of this incredible program."
Miller joins Amaya Redd (Knoxville Catholic) and Lyriq Mastin (Blackman) in the Golden Eagles' signing class with more to come in the following days as Tech continues to build a strong class to help shape the future of the program and continue to compete for championships.
The Golden Eagles will try to start the 2024-25 season with a 4-0 record for the first time since the 2010-11 campaign tonight as they host Jackson State with the tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
