Tech's Lamb chosen as Player of the Week by national website

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Quarterback Tre Lamb directed the Tennessee
Tech offense to a 49-7 win Saturday over Austin Peay. On Sunday,
the junior quarterback was named the OVC Player of the Week by
College Sports Madness.
Lamb rebounded from a tough first half to lead a big second half
as the Golden Eagles earned a share of the OVC championship for the
first time since 1975 and the league's automatic bid to the FCS
Playoffs.
The 5-9 junior signal-called accounted for four touchdowns in the
game, rushing for three and passing for one. He carried the ball 14
times for 52 yards and scored on runs of 1, 3 and 12 yards. As a
passer, he was 7-for-11 for 112 yards including a 61-yard touchdown
toss to Cody Matthews.
Lamb ranks second in the OVC in passing efficiency and fourth in
both passing yards and total offense. For the year he is
174-for-269 for 2,051 yards and 15 touchdowns. His 64.7 completion
percentage is currently the highest in school history.
Earlier in the day, the OVC named Dontey Gay as the leaue's
co-Offensive Player of the Week and Richmond Tooley as the
Defensive Player of the Week.
Tech will host Central Arkansas Saturday at 2 p.m. in the opening
round of the FCS Playoffs. Tickets are on sale through the
