Cross country team will wash cars for six hours Saturday

The Tennessee Tech cross country team will be washing cars this weekend outside the Hooper Eblen Center, in a fundraiser for the program.

The team will be outside the west entrance from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., raising money to fund travel and team apparel.

"We generally raise over 500 dollars," cross country and track coach Tony Cox said. "Any time we can raise money for our program, it helps us out."

Runner Stephanie Place has earned OVC runner of the week honors twice in a row. Tech hosts the Tennessee Tech Invitational on Oct. 3 at Southern Hills Golf Course.

Stick around the Eblen Center after the car wash to cheer on the Tech volleyball team, who takes on Southeast Missouri at 2 p.m. Admission to Tech volleyball games is free.
