Tech collects third consecutive third-place finish at OVC Championships
MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – For the third consecutive year, the Tennessee Tech women's golf team turned in a third-place finish at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships on Tuesday, completing the third round of action at the Fighting Joe Course on the RTJ Golf Trail at The Shoals in Muscle Shoals, Ala.

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – For the third consecutive year, the Tennessee Tech women's golf team turned in a third-place finish at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships on Tuesday, completing the third round of action at the Fighting Joe Course on the RTJ Golf Trail at The Shoals in Muscle Shoals, Ala.
With conditions at their worst of the event, the Golden Eagles tallied a final round of 320, scoring 936 to finish 28 shots ahead of fourth place. Morehead State earned the tournament title by 29 shots over Little Rock with a three-day total 900, led by individual medalist Tuva Isebakke, who fired a 222.
Capping an impressive sophomore campaign that saw her earn OVC Female Golfer of the Week twice and All-OVC First Team honors, Chloe Griffith solidified a spot on the OVC All-Tournament Team on Tuesday by carding a 77 to finish fifth among the 49 competitors. Producing two birdies and 11 pars, the youngster ended the week with a total score of 227.
Just a year after establishing a new program record for single-season scoring average, Griffith rewrote the history books by breaking her own school mark. The Huntington Beach, Calif. native ended her her second year in Cookeville with a new Tech record of 75.35.
Completing a smashing success of a rookie campaign, freshman Kailey Lane tied for 11th overall behind a three-day total of 234. The Harriman, Tenn. native turned in one birdie for the day while locking down a final round of 79.
Tying for 18th, Kaydi Rhodes finished off the week with a collective 242, carding a third-round tally of 86 with one birdie. Ending her senior campaign tied for 20th, Reagan Stuke earned two birdies in her final trip around the links for a 90.
After sitting out the second round while Cookeville native Lexus Julian filled in with an 83, junior Sydney Branson went back to work for round three, tallying a 78. The veteran concluded the year with a pair of birdies.
The third and final round of the OVC Championships will kick off Tuesday morning, with tee times starting at 8:00 a.m. CT.
