Tech women travel to Morehead, Thursday tip rescheduled to 11 a.m. CT
MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Tennessee Tech women are on a roll, winning all but one game in the month of January, rifling off six straight wins and 11 of the last 13. Now that the Golden Eagles are in the back nine of the Ohio Valley Conference slate with the postseason tournament in Evansville a month away, it’s crunch time. No opponent can be overlooked and with a Morehead State team inviting the Golden Eagles in for a Thursday matinee – the start time changing to 11 a.m. Thursday for weather concerns – Tech certainly can’t just kick back and relax.

MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Tennessee Tech women are on a roll, winning all but one game in the month of January, rifling off six straight wins and 11 of the last 13. Now that the Golden Eagles are in the back nine of the Ohio Valley Conference slate with the postseason tournament in Evansville a month away, it's crunch time.
No opponent can be overlooked and with a Morehead State team inviting the Golden Eagles in for a Thursday matinee – the start time changing to 11 a.m. Central for weather concerns – Tech certainly can't just kick back and relax.

Morehead State enters Thursday's game still looking for its first OVC – and Division I – victory of the season, posting a 1-19, 0-10 record to date. The host Eagles have lost 17 straight games, so they're looking to snap that streak.
Among all games played, MSU has been outscored on average 72.5-50.0, but increases to 75.3-50.4 in conference play.
Jada Claude is Morehead's only player scoring in double-figures on average in OVC competition, posting a 16.1 rate, while also pulling down a team-high 7.7 rebounds. Alana Denson is also averaging 9.1 points per game in conference play. Terri Smith and Freddy Adams lead the team in assists with 17 each, an average of 1.7 per league night.
In contrast, the Tech women have four players averaging double-digit scoring in OVC play, led by league co-Player of the Week Anna Jones, who has seen her average increase to 12.9 ppg following her 25-point showing at UT Martin on Monday night. She has two double-doubles in the last three games and also leads the team in conference rebounding per game at a 7.9 rate. Mackenzie Coleman (11.9 ppg), Anna Walker (11.3) and Jada Guinn (10.1) are also averaging double-digits in league play.
Coleman (5.2 rpg) and Guinn (5.1 rpg) are also handling the glass well.
In Tech's current six-game winning streak, Jones is averaging 13.8 points and 8.3 rebounds, while Coleman is averaging 13.7 points and 5.2 boards. Both players have a team-high 11 steals, while Guinn has 17 assists and Coleman nine blocks.
