2020-21 (Sophomore): Started all 25 games, averaging 31.1 minutes ... averaged 8.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game ... was a .543 shooter from the floor, .267 from 3-point range and .706 from the line ... scored a career-high 16 points against Austin Peay (2/25/21) ... had 10 games with double-digit scoring ... had a career-high 12 rebounds against Eastern Kentucky (1/28/21) as she recorded her first career double-double with 12 points ... had 11 rebounds and nine points against Jacksonville State (3/4/21).

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – With the regular-season chase in the rearview mirror and the Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Championships presented by TicketSmarter ahead, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team claimed three spots on the league’s all-conference teams. Graduate guard/forward Anna Jones was named to the first team, graduate forward Mackenzie Coleman was named to the second team and sophomore transfer forward Anna Walker was named to the All-Newcomer team. COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Senior Night was a good one for the Tennessee Tech women on Saturday night as the Golden Eagles were able to hold off UT Martin, claiming a 61-51 victory to close out the regular season. With the win, Tech improves to 19-9, 14-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference. The 14 league wins is the most since the Golden Eagles won 15 in 2010-11 and the team’s highest regular-season finish since Tech tied for the regular-season championship in 2012-13. It is the first time the team had four straight winning seasons since 2005-06 and the first time the team has had double-digit OVC wins for four straight seasons since 2001-02.

It took a physical effort to get the win as SIUE forced the Golden Eagles into tough shot after tough shot, but Tech earned the 68-64 decision at First Community Arena. The Golden Eagles (16-8, 11-3 OVC) remain in second place after the day’s action is through, trailing Belmont (16-7, 12-2 OVC) by a game. MOREHEAD, Ky. – The winning streak continued on Thursday morning as the Tennessee Tech women got double-digit scoring performances from five players to top Morehead State 87-69. The Golden Eagles (14-7, 9-2 Ohio Valley Conference) won their seventh straight game and 12 of their last 14. Tech soared out early, shooting 75 percent from the floor in the first quarter, to take a commanding 28-13 lead through the first 10 minutes. While the host Eagles did make things a little interesting at times, MSU (1-20, 0-11 OVC) was unable to cut the deficit back under single digits, getting as close as 13 in the second half. Tech led by 24 with 2:43 remaining in the contest before the home Eagles made a small run to close out the contest.

Mackenzie Coleman was four points shy of tying her career-high in points as she knocked in 24 on 11-of-15 shooting. There is a rich history between the two programs and their 27 previous meetings – of which the Golden Eagles claimed 11 victories. Back in the old Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women days before the NCAA officially adopted women’s basketball, Tennessee-Tennessee Tech was a common matchup, playing 22 times in the 1970s. But since women’s basketball became an NCAA sport in 1982, Tech and the Lady Vols have only played twice, the last time coming thirty years ago in a heated, physical matchup on a cold February night in 1991.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – A year ago when the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team opened the season at Chattanooga, the Golden Eagles started strong, but went cold in the second and third quarters as the Mocs dominated under the basket. Saturday night, it was the exact opposite for Tech as the Golden Eagles shot a scorching 58.9 percent from the field, including an 80.0 percent rate in the second quarter and 60.0 percent in the fourth. COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Typically every season, the Ohio Valley Conference basketball coaches would make the trip – most recently to Evansville, Ind., the host site of the conference championship tournament and meet with the media to preview the upcoming season. However, with the COVID-19 pandemic, things changed. Last season, the OVC Basketball Media Day was held virtually, using Zoom and connecting the coaches with conference media from the comfort of their desks and computer screens. Since then, all of the league’s media days have followed suit. On Wednesday, the first day for the OVC Basketball Virtual Media Day as it concludes Thursday, the Tennessee Tech teams had their chance to speak to the media.
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – If the Ohio Valley Conference voters’ crystal balls are correct this year, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team could have a very exciting season ahead. The Golden Eagles were picked second in the OVC’s preseason poll, their highest projection since being selected to win the OVC East Division in 2013-14. That season, Tech had 12 first-place votes and 119 total points. The 2021-22 Golden Eagles surpassed that overall point total, earning 134 total points in the voting, while claiming two of the 20 first-place votes. Belmont claimed 15 first place votes and 159 points total as the preseason ballots placed the Golden Eagles just 15 points behind the Bruins and nine points ahead of Murray State as the Racers claimed three first-place votes and 125 total points.
