Tech men continue spring slate at Samford Intercollegiate

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Tennessee Tech men's golf team joins four other Ohio Valley Conference schools at the Samford Intercollegiate in Birmingham, Ala. on Monday and Tuesday.
Coming off of a sixth-place finish at Augusta State to open the season, coach Polk Brown takes his men's squad to the Hoover Country Club to square off against a field of 18 teams in the 54-hole tournament.
The Golden Eagles join Auburn, Belmont, Bowling Green, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, Francis Marion, Furman, Georgia Southern, Montevallo, Murray State, Presbyterian, Samford, Southern Illinois, Tennessee-Martin, Western Kentucky, Winthrop and Vanderbilt.
Samford won last year's tourney, shooting a (291-288-303)= 882. Meanwhile, Tech finished 17th, led by Lee Maxwell's 79-77-78=234.
