High School: Thompson was a three-sport athlete at James Logan High School in Union City, Calif., lettering in basketball for head coach Melvin Easley, earning two letters in baseball for head coach Stephen Gatehouse, and picking up a letter in football for head coach Ricky Rodriguez… as a senior, averaged 15 points, five rebounds, and three steals per game while shooting 50 percent from distance… led JLHS to both Mission Valley Athletic League and Northern California Division I Region titles as a senior… picked up MVAL MVP honors, Northern California DI Player of the Year honors, and a spot on the All-California Second Team… named the Bay Area News Group’s Player of the Year… sat out his junior year after transferring to JLHS from Mountain House High School… averaged a team-high 14.6 points per game as a sophomore at MHHS.
