Rowe, Martin take home Ohio Valley Conference postseason honors Monday afternoon
The Ohio Valley Conference release its regular season honors for men's basketball Tuesday afternoon, and coming as no surprise were the names of Tennessee Tech guard Torrance Rowe and forward Ryan Martin showing up among those honored.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - The Ohio Valley Conference release its regular season honors for men's basketball Tuesday afternoon, and coming as no surprise were the names of Tennessee Tech guard Torrance Rowe and forward Ryan Martin showing up among those honored.
After leading the Golden Eagle squad in scoring and assists, Rowe was named to the All-OVC First Team. The senior ranked second in the league averaging 18.1 points per game and finished fourth in assists with 4.4 per contest. In OVC play alone, he led all scorers with 19.2 points per game.
He tied with teammate Aleksa Jugovic as the league's top free throw shooter, hitting 87.1 percent of his attempts from the charity stripe and ranked third in the league while averaging 35.5 minutes per game. The Atlanta, Ga. native took home OVC Player of the Week honors three times throughout the season while leading the Golden Eagles to a 19-10 mark, tying for the second-most regular season victories in program history.
Martin took home a spot on both the All-OVC Second Team and OVC All-Newcomer team in his lone season in the purple and gold, averaging 14 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. He finished fourth in the OVC in rebounding and second on the Tech squad in scoring. He also ranked 10th in the league in free throw shooting, hitting at a 78.1 percent clip.
A native of London, England, Martin was named OVC Newcomer of the Week four times throughout the season, posting nine double-doubles along the way. He shot over 50 percent from the field while hauling in over 200 rebounds for the Golden Eagles.
The two seniors will lead the Tennessee Tech squad into the Ohio Valley Conference Wednesday evening as the Golden Eagles take on in-state foe Austin Peay in a 6 p.m. tilt in Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn.
