COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - A rainy day couldn't damper the mood on a great event for the Tennessee Tech soccer team as the Golden Eagles hosted its Alumni Day Saturday afternoon. Several former members of the Tech club returned for a game against current players as well as a lunch and social time.
The Golden Eagles took advantage of Tennessee Tech's spacious Athletic Performance Center, playing its alumni game indoors to avoid the day-long rain storm that consumed Cookeville. The contest, which lasted roughly 75 minutes, pitted the future of the Golden Eagle soccer team against the past.
Following the contest, both teams, as well as parents of current players, enjoyed a nice lunch in the Eagles Nest located in the Hooper Eblen Center.
The Tech soccer program concluded its spring schedule with the alumni game and will return to the pitch next fall for the 2013 season.
