Golden Eagle men's golf fall tourney schedule features Southern flavor
The Tennessee Tech men's golf team will face a regional schedule this fall with five tournaments scattered across Tennessee, South Carolina and Kentucky.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Tech men's golf team will face a regional schedule this fall with five tournaments scattered across Tennessee, South Carolina and Kentucky.
The Golden Eagle season gets underway Sept. 21-23 at the Mason Rudolph Championship just down the road in Nashville. Hosted by Vanderbilt, the three-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at the Vanderbilt Legends Course. Tech will then hit the road for the first of four consecutive October weekends of play to take part in the Rees Jones Invitational. Hosted by another Southeastern Conference school, South Carolina.
"The men have an outstanding schedule for the fall highlighted by the first two events being hosted by SEC schools Vanderbilt and South Carolina," head coach Polk Brown said. "I am very excited for Tennessee Tech to be represented in such prestigous events. These events will do nothing but help us improve and help promote TTU Golf on a more national stage."
Tech returns to its home state a week later to compete in the Skyhawk Classic, hosted by Ohio Valley Conference rival UT Martin, in Paris Landing, Tenn. The men finished fourth in that event in 2011.
From there, the Golden Eagles take a tour of the Bluegrass State, starting with the WKU/Kenny Perry Invitational, Oct. 14-16. The invite will be hosted by former OVC member Western Kentucky and will take place at one of the most famous courses in the area, The Club at Olde Stone.
"This golf course is nationally recognized as one of the toughest in the country and has also hosted NCAA Regional events leading up to the NCAA National Championship," Brown said.
Tech will wrap up its fall season at another familiar event, the F&M Bank Intercollegiate in Hopkinsville, Ky. Hosted by another OVC member, Austin Peay, the 54-hole tournament is scheduled to take place at The Links at Novadell on Oct. 22-23.
"All in all, the schedule is excellent, and I could not have asked for a better way to get my players prepared for the ultimate goal come April: Winning OVC," Brown said. "The guys are very, very excited about these events coming in the fall."
