One year on the sidelines as a redshirt has helped Matt prepare for his Golden Eagle debut in 2011...listed to play at the Anchor spot in the defensive line...good sense of the game...has worked to increase his size and strength...sure-handed tackler who has a nose for the football...made a quick impression upon his arrival, placing on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the 2010 fall semester.

AT TECH (In 2011): Matt saw field action against Maryville College on Sept. 8, but did not put up any stats.

AT TECH (In 2010): Matt was on the roster and worked on the scout team during his first year while taking a redshirt season.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterwinner on the football field at North Clayton (Ga.) High School for coach Rodney Hackney...was putting up big numbers for the Eagles through the first five games of his senior season before a knee injury cut his prep career short...helped the team go 4-1 through the early part of the schedule before finishing 10-3 and going three rounds into the state 4-AAAA playoffs...he accounted for 46 total tackles and five tackles-for-loss in his five contests.
