News mentions
DALLAS, Texas to HOUSTON, Texas – As the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team studied their scouting reports during the voyage from Dallas to Houston for Sunday’s second-round matchup in the WNIT against the Houston Cougars, head coach Kim Rosamond and her staff weren’t relaxing on the nearly four-hour trip. They studied film, took notes, created game plans, figured out travel, food and lodging – and that’s just scratching the surface.
HOUSTON, Texas – Tennessee Tech wasn’t going down without a fight. After all, throughout the course of the 2021-22 season, the Golden Eagle women had never backed down against tough odds, even against opponents from the upper echelon of the sport. The Golden Eagles had an opportunity. If you look at the final score, it’s misleading. The eight-point margin that Houston held on the final tally was from only its third lead of the game, boosted by a 3:17 scoring drought for Tech and nine unanswered points to take a 63-55 victory over the Golden Eagles in the second round of the WNIT.
HOUSTON, Texas – With their first win in the WNIT under their belts, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team has loaded up the bus and made the transition from Dallas to Houston. The Golden Eagles (21-14) will go from one American Athletic Conference opponent in SMU to another in Houston facing the sorority chapter of Phi Slama Jama in the postseason tournament’s second round. Tipoff on Sunday is scheduled for 2 p.m. There will be no video broadcast from Houston, but Dylan Vazzano will be live on the call on 106.1 The Eagle and on TTUsports.com.
DALLAS, Texas – If there were still any bad memories from the Ohio Valley Conference championship game lingering around, the Tennessee Tech women certainly did their best to exorcise those demons on Thursday night. The Golden Eagles came out on a mission and put together a strong effort on both sides of the ball to claim a 73-62 victory over SMU in the opening round of the WNIT. Tech (21-10) advances to the second round and will load up the bus and cruise up the Texas highways to Houston on Sunday with the game slated for a 2 p.m. start.
DALLAS, Texas – The Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team has landed in Dallas and now it’s back to work for the Golden Eagle squad as they prepare for the first round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament. This time of year, it’s all about survive and advance and that’s the mission Thursday night as the Golden Eagles enter Moody Coliseum to take on the SMU Mustangs. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live on SMU’s athletics website.
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – When you have as tough of a game as the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team had in the Ohio Valley Conference championship game on Saturday at the Ford Center, sometimes you just have to shrug it off, look forward and work toward tomorrow. In a game that started as a defensive slugfest with points at a premium, Belmont pulled away in the second half as the Golden Eagles went cold, hitting just one of 11 shot attempts in the fourth quarter – a 3-pointer by Maaliya Owens with 12 seconds left standing as the only successful try in the period.
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Murray State led for the majority of the game. Tennessee Tech led when it mattered. A furious effort in the fourth quarter – outscoring the Racers 24-11 in the final 10 minutes – proved to be the push the Golden Eagles needed to send Murray State to the OVC exit, claiming a 68-62 victory over the Racers on Friday in the Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Championship semifinals. The Golden Eagles, winning their 20th game of the season to give the program its 29th 20-plus-win season in its 52 seasons, will take on Belmont on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. from the Ford Center. Dylan Vazzano and Frank Harrell will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while Connor Onion and Helen Williams will broadcast the game on ESPN+ (subscription required).
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Tennessee Tech women rang in the New Year with a thrilling victory over Murray State at the CFSB Center. A week later, the Racers claimed the upper hand early and never looked back in a lopsided win at the Eblen Center. On Friday, it’ll be a showdown at the Ford Center as Murray State and the Tennessee Tech women will square off for the third time, the victor earning a spot in the championship game of the Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Championships in Evansville, Ind.
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – With the regular-season chase in the rearview mirror and the Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Championships presented by TicketSmarter ahead, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team claimed three spots on the league’s all-conference teams. Graduate guard/forward Anna Jones was named to the first team, graduate forward Mackenzie Coleman was named to the second team and sophomore transfer forward Anna Walker was named to the All-Newcomer team. The teams were voted on by the league’s coaches and sports information contacts.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – When Tennessee Tech and Tennessee State met back in December, the contest was decided by a last-second heave from Gia Adams as time expired. When the two teams met Thursday night, the Golden Eagle women were determined not to see that happen again. The Tech women looked like a team on a mission and used several runs to break away and never look back, collecting a 75-49 victory over Tennessee State.
In sports, we often talk about the power of one: the power of one player to impact a teammate or a team, the power of one coach to transform a player’s life, or even the power of one referee’s whistle to change the momentum of a game. As the head coach who has had a behind-the-scenes view to the last six seasons of Tennessee Tech women’s basketball, I was to take this time to talk about the power of one senior class that helped revive and reinvigorate TTU WBB. Kesha Brady, Jordan Brock, Mackenzie Coleman, Megan Clark, Anna Jones and Grace Pelphrey have all left an undeniable mark on Cookeville, Tennessee Tech and all who love this program.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – As the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team’s regular-season comes to a close on Saturday, it’s a bittersweet moment. It’s the time to honor one of the most prolific classes in Golden Eagle history, recognizing their exploits, celebrating their victories and extending the gratitude for representing the Purple and Gold. But, at the same time, the road is not yet complete. In addition to Saturday’s regular-season finale against UT Martin – tipping off at 5:30 p.m. from the Eblen Center – the Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Championships in Evansville, Ind., are next week, and there’s still the opportunity for postseason basketball after that.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It’s the last week of the regular season – can’t hold anything back. As the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team enters its final two games of the Ohio Valley Conference slate, there’s plenty to strive for. The Golden Eagles (17-9, 12-4 OVC) still have a chance at tying Belmont for a share of the OVC title, standing two games back from the Bruins. Belmont (18-7, 14-2 OVC) is at Murray State on Thursday and hosts Tennessee State on Saturday. Murray State (20-7, 12-4 OVC), who is currently tied with Tech in the standings, also travels to Southeast Missouri on Saturday. Austin Peay, just a game back at 11-5 in the conference, is at SIUE and Eastern Illinois. The bright side, Tech is assured of at least one merit bye at next week’s OVC Basketball Championship as no matter what happens the rest of the way as the Golden Eagles can drop no lower than fourth in the standings. That’s not to say the Tech women are satisfied with that – far from it as the Golden Eagles are still looking toward raising another banner in the Eblen Center.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team wrapped up one heck of a present for head coach Kim Rosamond’s birthday, fighting back from an early deficit and working toward a 65-55 victory over Southeast Missouri on Thursday night. The win – Tech’s 12th of the Ohio Valley Conference campaign – ties Rosamond’s seasons in 2018-19 and 2020-21 for 12 league victories. The Golden Eagle head coach has three games remaining in the regular season to try to top that mark.
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – It’s an end of an era as the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team plays its final game at the Dunn Center on Saturday afternoon as Austin Peay prepares to depart the Ohio Valley Conference for its new home in the Atlantic Sun. The Golden Eagles will be looking to end the conference series between the two teams with a win as Tech tries to make its case for the OVC championship. Tipoff for Saturday’s game is scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. Dylan Vazzano will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while the game will be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required). The game also marks the last road game for the Golden Eagles (17-8, 12-3 OVC) in the regular season. The next time Tech will play away from the Hooper Eblen Center will be the OVC Basketball Championships in Evansville, Ind., as the Golden Eagles host Tennessee State and UT Martin in the final week of the scheduled campaign.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It’s down to the last couple weeks of the Ohio Valley Conference’s regular-season slate. Four games for the Tennessee Tech women and still so much still up in the air. Fortunately for the Golden Eagles, three of the four are at home at the Hooper Eblen Center. However, it won’t be a simple game in any of the remaining contests. Thursday, the Tech women host a Southeast Missouri team that came within one possession of beating league leader Belmont. Saturday, the Golden Eagles travel to Clarksville to take on an Austin Peay squad that handed the Bruins a consecutive loss after Tech was victorious in the Curb Event Center. Next week, the Golden Eagles host a Tennessee State squad that beat them to open conference play, then host a UT Martin squad that has finally found its footing and is surging in the standings. So what does that mean? Every game is important.
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – With just five games remaining in the regular season, the Ohio Valley Conference race continues to be a tight one with three games separating the top five teams. The Tennessee Tech women will try to do their part to stay toward the top of the standings as the Golden Eagles take on SIUE on Saturday. Tipoff from First Community Arena is set for 1 p.m.
CHARLESTON, Ill. – Just like the first meeting between the two teams, Thursday’s tilt between the Tennessee Tech and Eastern Illinois women was a battle. Both teams went back and forth with eight ties and six lead changes, and while the Golden Eagles were on top for 29 of the 40 minutes, it took a 10-1 run midway through the fourth quarter to finally create some separation between the two teams as Tech took a 65-56 victory at Lantz Arena. The Golden Eagles improve to 15-8 overall, 10-3 in the Ohio Valley Conference.
CHARLESTON, Ill. – The Ohio Valley Conference race is heating up and with six games to play in the regular season, it’s all about making that final push and locking down one of the two byes in the conference tournament in Evansville. The Tennessee Tech women are certainly well aware of how tight the league standings are. After a tough loss on Saturday to Belmont, the Bruins currently have a one-game lead in the OVC at 10-2. Tech stands at 9-3, a half-game up on Austin Peay (8-3). Murray State (8-4) and Eastern Illinois (8-4) are just a game back, making this weekend’s games for the Golden Eagles important as they try to build separation. It all starts on Thursday as the Golden Eagles head to Charleston, Ill., to take on the Eastern Illinois Panthers (13-10 overall). Tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – In the navy corner, with seven Ohio Valley Conference regular-season titles, six OVC tournament crowns and six NCAA appearances, a 2021-22 record of 12-7, 8-2 in the OVC – from Nashville – Belmont. In the white corner, with 18 OVC regular-season titles, nine OVC tournament championships and 10 NCAA appearances, a 2021-22 record of 14-7, 9-2 in the OVC – in their home arena in Cookeville – Tennessee Tech. Let’s get ready to rumble.
MOREHEAD, Ky. – The winning streak continued on Thursday morning as the Tennessee Tech women got double-digit scoring performances from five players to top Morehead State 87-69. The Golden Eagles (14-7, 9-2 Ohio Valley Conference) won their seventh straight game and 12 of their last 14. Tech soared out early, shooting 75 percent from the floor in the first quarter, to take a commanding 28-13 lead through the first 10 minutes. While the host Eagles did make things a little interesting at times, MSU (1-20, 0-11 OVC) was unable to cut the deficit back under single digits, getting as close as 13 in the second half. Tech led by 24 with 2:43 remaining in the contest before the home Eagles made a small run to close out the contest.
MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Tennessee Tech women are on a roll, winning all but one game in the month of January, rifling off six straight wins and 11 of the last 13. Now that the Golden Eagles are in the back nine of the Ohio Valley Conference slate with the postseason tournament in Evansville a month away, it’s crunch time. No opponent can be overlooked and with a Morehead State team inviting the Golden Eagles in for a Thursday matinee – the start time changing to 11 a.m. Thursday for weather concerns – Tech certainly can’t just kick back and relax.
MARTIN, Tenn. – Monday was a great homecoming for Anna Jones as the Jackson native put on a show, leading the Tennessee Tech women to their sixth straight win and 11th in the last 13, topping UT Martin 67-56 at the Elam Center. Jones went 9-for-12 from the field, including a perfect 3-for-3 from long range and 4-for-6 from the free-throw line as she scored a season-high 25 points to lead all scorers. Tech’s towering presence of Anna Walker and Mackenzie Coleman also had great games – Walker had 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting with a 3-pointer and three made free-throws, while Coleman was 5-for-8 from the floor with a 3-pointer and two made free-throws for 13 points.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It was a fight to the finish on Saturday night, but when the dust settled in the Eblen Center, the Tennessee Tech women topped Austin Peay and cut the Ohio Valley Conference logjam at the top to just the Golden Eagles and Belmont as Tech topped Austin Peay 59-56. Anna Jones led Tech (12-7, 7-2 OVC) with 16 points and almost collected her second consecutive double-double, but finished the night with nine rebounds. Maaliya Owens also had another stellar second half, scoring 12 of her 13 points in the second half as she was 3-for-5 from the field with two 3-pointers and was 4-for-5 from the charity stripe.

Tipoff from the Elam Center is scheduled for 6 p.m. Dylan Vazzano will handle the broadcast for 106.1 The Eagle, while Chris Brinkley and Eddie Suiter will call the came for ESPN+ (subscription required). Following last weekend with a visit to Belmont then returning home to take on Eastern Illinois, the pattern is flip-flopped this week as the Golden Eagles are coming off of a thrilling victory over Austin Peay to stay in a tie at the top of the Ohio Valley Conference standings with Belmont and now taking on a UT Martin team that has been a challenging opponent in years past.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – There was a time when the matchup between the Austin Peay and Tennessee Tech women helped decide the fate of the Ohio Valley Conference championship. On Saturday, with the Governors and the Golden Eagles taking up two of the three spots in the first-place tie in the standings, it almost feels like an old-school OVC showdown at the Eblen Center. Tipoff for the game Saturday is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Roger Ealey and Frank Harrell will carry the game on 106.1 The Eagle, while campus station 88.5 WTTU will have the came with Carson Crouch and Franklin McCarthy on the call. COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Another night in the Ohio Valley Conference, another battle as the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team escaped a comeback bid from Eastern Illinois to take a 65-60 victory on Monday night. The win gave Tech (11-7, 6-2) its fourth straight OVC win, while also winning nine games in its last 11 played. The Panthers utilized its inside game to make its bid over the Golden Eagles, scoring 48 points in the paint, but Tech controlled the boards by a sizeable margin, outrebounding EIU 37-26. Among the 37 rebounds, the Golden Eagles were able to pull down 15 offensive boards, creating 15 second-chance points.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With the adrenaline rush subsiding after a big win over Belmont on Saturday, the Tennessee Tech women were back at work in the Eblen Center on Sunday. After all, the most important game is the next one and Eastern Illinois is looking to catch the Golden Eagles off-guard. The Panthers (8-9, 3-3 OVC) come into the Hoop on Monday night, tipoff scheduled for 6 p.m. Roger Ealey and Frank Harrell will broadcast the game for 106.1 The Eagle, while Carson Crouch and Franklin McCarthy will handle duties on campus radio 88.5 WTTU. NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Saturday showed why games aren’t decided on paper – they’re decided on the floor. In a battle to the finish, the Tennessee Tech women showed just why they belong in Ohio Valley Conference championship contention, handing Belmont its first loss in OVC play in seven games. Anna Jones hit a layup with just seconds left in the contest and Belmont could not get a shot to fall as time expired and the Golden Eagles survived their final visit to the Curb Event Center with a 57-55 victory. The win broke Belmont’s 16-game winning streak against OVC competition and the Golden Eagles are the first team to win three games against the Bruins at the Curb Event Center in OVC play.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The saying might seem clichéd, but the best way to describe Thursday’s 75-58 victory over Southeast Missouri is total team effort. Mackenzie Coleman was four points shy of tying her career-high in points as she knocked in 24 on 11-of-15 shooting. In addition to her assault under the rim, Jada Guinn added nine points and four players – the Annas Jones and Walker, Ansley Hall and Kesha Brady – each scored eight.
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – After a tough loss on Saturday, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team will look to dust off their shoulders and get back into the Ohio Valley Conference fracas this week with a pair of important conference matchups at Southeast Missouri and UT Martin. Up first for the Golden Eagles is a trip to Cape Girardeau to take on the Redhawks. The women’s contest is still scheduled for a 5 p.m. tipoff, while the men’s game has been postponed. Dylan Vazzano will provide the call for 106.1 The Eagle, while the game will also be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required).
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – For the second time in a week’s span, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team will face off with Murray State. It’s as familiar with a foe as one can get with just one contest between the two meetings in Thursday’s win over Morehead State. The Golden Eagles (7-6, 2-1 OVC) were originally scheduled to take on Eastern Illinois on Saturday, but the Panthers entered COVID protocols, rescheduling the game to Monday, Jan. 24. Instead, Tech will take on Murray State, who had its Thursday contest against the Panthers postponed as well, meaning the last game for the Racers is Tech’s 65-62 victory a week ago in the CFSB Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – When the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball coaches added Anna Walker to the program last spring, they knew the Chattanooga transfer was going to be a special player. After trailing by as many as seven points with 7:15 remaining in the contest at 52-45, Tech (6-6, 1-1 OVC) used a 11-2 run late in the fourth quarter to take a 56-54 lead with 3:46 left as Megan Clark hit back-to-back 3-pointers.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A hard-fought game from buzzer to buzzer, Thursday’s Ohio Valley Conference opener for the Tennessee Tech women came down to a fantastic finish. Unfortunately, the incredible last-ditch shot in overtime to win the game came from a desperation heave from Tennessee State freshman Gia Adams, giving the Tigers a 96-93 victory – their first conference victory since February 20, 2020, against Eastern Kentucky, ending a 23-game skid in league play. The Golden Eagles fall to 5-6 on the season, 0-1 in league play. The opening weekend for the Golden Eagles continues on Saturday as Tech travels to Murray State for a 5 p.m. start on New Year’s Day.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – If it seems like it’s been a while since the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team has graced the court of the Hooper Eblen Center, it has as the Golden Eagles’ last game at home came just before the Thanksgiving holiday. KNOXVILLE – When the final horn sounded at Thompson-Boling Arena on Wednesday night, there were a lot of positives for the Tennessee Tech women. While a 76-48 loss to the No. 11 Tennessee squad wasn't the desired outcome, the Golden Eagles have plenty to build on as they enter the December portion of the non-conference schedule. Tech (2-5) battled through the contest and had a strong showing in the first half, but a 1-for-13 finish in the third quarter saw the Lady Vols distance themselves.
KNOXVILLE – It’s been a long time since the Tennessee Tech women have faced the Tennessee Lady Vols. There is a rich history between the two programs and their 27 previous meetings – of which the Golden Eagles claimed 11 victories. Back in the old Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women days before the NCAA officially adopted women’s basketball, Tennessee-Tennessee Tech was a common matchup, playing 22 times in the 1970s. But since women’s basketball became an NCAA sport in 1982, Tech and the Lady Vols have only played twice, the last time coming thirty years ago in a heated, physical matchup on a cold February night in 1991.
SAN JUAN, P.R. – The Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team made a valiant comeback on Saturday against New Mexico State, but the Aggies’ 20-point lead in the third quarter was too much to overcome as the Golden Eagles close out the San Juan Shootout with a 66-54 loss. Tech (2-4) return to action on Wednesday as the Golden Eagles head to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Lady Vols for a 5:30 p.m. Central contest.
SAN JUAN, P.R. – The resume was already a strong one for Florida Gulf Coast coming into Friday's first game in the San Juan Shootout. The opposing Eagles were ranked No. 1 in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Poll and also earned a spot in the Associated Press Top 25. The Tennessee Tech women saw first-hand on Friday why FGCU is earning respect from the nation's poll voters, dropping a hard-fought 81-69 contest at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Golden Eagles (2-3) conclude their play in the San Juan Shootout on Saturday as they take on New Mexico State at 1:30 p.m. Dylan Vazzano will provide the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while the game will be streamed on FloHoops (subscription required).

The San Juan Shootout is the 52nd in-season tournament for Tech in the program’s 52 seasons of play, posting a 49-66 record all-time.
COOKEVILLE – With the complex and difficult schedule the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team had in front of itself to begin the 2021-22 campaign, there were bound to be some speed bumps along the way. While learning from these early-season games will help the Golden Eagles become a better team when the Ohio Valley Conference slate begins in just over a month, the sting of a tough 65-47 loss to Middle Tennessee on Monday night will give the Tech women some motivation to improve.
COOKEVILLE – When it comes to the series between the Tennessee Tech and Middle Tennessee women’s basketball teams, the word battle comes to mind. The series, which has been in play nearly every season of the two program’s existence, continues Monday night as the Golden Eagles host the Blue Raiders.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – A year ago when the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team opened the season at Chattanooga, the Golden Eagles started strong, but went cold in the second and third quarters as the Mocs dominated under the basket. Saturday night, it was the exact opposite for Tech as the Golden Eagles shot a scorching 58.9 percent from the field, including an 80.0 percent rate in the second quarter and 60.0 percent in the fourth. Thaat hot hand led Tech to an 85-58 victory over Chattanooga.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With a win in the books to open the 2021-22 campaign, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team will be back in action on Saturday night, looking to derail Chattanooga as the Mocs come to the Eblen Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday to close out the Homecoming festivities. The Tennessee Tech women’s team did just that in decisive fashion on Tuesday night, using a strong defensive effort to shut down Bethel out of the NAIA’s Mid-South Conference 85-46. The Golden Eagles (1-0) return to action on Saturday as they host Chattanooga at 7 p.m. Bethel remains at 3-1 since it counted the game as an exhibition contest.

Tuesday’s game will be broadcast on ESPN+ (subscription required).
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The exhibition contest for the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team was a productive one on Thursday night as the Golden Eagles saw action from every member of the 2021-22 roster, putting together an excellent showing as Tech defeated Division II Christian Brothers 86-56. While the statistics from Thursday’s game won’t count toward career totals, there were a lot of positives to come out of the contest.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It’ll be a chance for fans to get a sneak peek at the 2021-22 Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team on Thursday night as the Golden Eagles will host Christian Brothers in an exhibition contest. Doors open to the public Thursday at 4:30 p.m. as local businesses and organizations, as well as Tennessee Tech teams and student groups will host trick-or-treat stations around the Eblen Center concourse. The women’s game against Christian Brothers will begin at 5:30 p.m., while the Tennessee Tech men will take on Berea College at approximately 7:30 p.m.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Typically every season, the Ohio Valley Conference basketball coaches would make the trip – most recently to Evansville, Ind., the host site of the conference championship tournament and meet with the media to preview the upcoming season. However, with the COVID-19 pandemic, things changed. Last season, the OVC Basketball Media Day was held virtually, using Zoom and connecting the coaches with conference media from the comfort of their desks and computer screens. Since then, all of the league’s media days have followed suit. On Wednesday, the first day for the OVC Basketball Virtual Media Day as it concludes Thursday, the Tennessee Tech teams had their chance to speak to the media.
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – If the Ohio Valley Conference voters’ crystal balls are correct this year, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team could have a very exciting season ahead. The Golden Eagles were picked second in the OVC’s preseason poll, their highest projection since being selected to win the OVC East Division in 2013-14. That season, Tech had 12 first-place votes and 119 total points. The 2021-22 Golden Eagles surpassed that overall point total, earning 134 total points in the voting, while claiming two of the 20 first-place votes. Belmont claimed 15 first place votes and 159 points total as the preseason ballots placed the Golden Eagles just 15 points behind the Bruins and nine points ahead of Murray State as the Racers claimed three first-place votes and 125 total points.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With momentum building over recent years, so has the excitement for the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team. With the 2021-22 campaign approaching, Tech women’s head coach Kim Rosamond spoke to the assembly at the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce’s monthly Breakfast Before Hours event to drum up support for this new year. “I am really, really excited about this season,” Rosamond said. “This is the team we have been building toward for the last five seasons and I’m really excited about the group that is coming back. We have a bigger roster than we’ve ever had with 16 players, which is interesting in practice, but also a very big positive. We have a lot of experience back.”
