The Knights are 1-2 against Ohio Valley Conference competition this season, topping Southeast Missouri 4-3 at the Western Kentucky Hilltopper Classic on Feb. 18, before falling at UT Martin in a March 1 doubleheader 7-1 and 4-2. They were scheduled to play Austin Peay at the Governors Classic last weekend before rain washed out the contest.
Alexis Hargrove leads the Knights with 10 RBI and three of the team's five home runs, while posting a .255 batting average. Hannah Webb (.295) has a team-best 18 hits, while Grace Werner (.296) has a team-high eight runs scored.
In the circle, Claire Lehmkuhler (3.92 ERA) has seen the most action, throwing 50 innings across 11 appearances with a 3-7 record on the season. Opponents are hitting .288 against her with 16 walks and 28 strikeouts. Carson Goatley (4.05 ERA) is 2-4 with 18 walks and 27 strikeouts.
The Golden Eagles have seen Indiana State already this season, falling 3-2 back on Feb. 19 in the Chattanooga Challenge. The Sycamores scored early, but the Golden Eagles were able to cut back within on run, but ISU held Tech to just six hits in the contest.
The Sycamores are 10-8 on the season dropping their last two games at the Memphis Blues City Classic, falling 10-4 to UT Martin and 4-3 to the host Tigers. They also have a 7-5 victory over SIUE this season.
Danielle Henning (.286) has a team-best 10 RBI, while Bella Peterson leads the team in average (.383), hits (23), runs scored (13) and stolen bases (5-for-5). Lexi Benko (5-4, 2.09 ERA) picked up the previous win against the Golden Eagles. Opponents are hitting .231 against her as she has walked eight and struck out 29.
Quinnipiac is 1-3 on the season, falling 6-5 and 19-5 to Howard, then 14-1 to Iowa State. The Bobcats got a 4-1 win in their last outing on Feb. 23 against Sacred Heart, but then had their next three games canceled.
Bridget Nasir and Kayla Thomas each have three RBI to lead Quinnipiac, while Serena Fogg has a .462 batting average. Sydney Horan has the Bobcats' lone win of the season, posting a 5.25 ERA in four appearances with eight walks and 10 strikeouts.
Tech enters the weekend with a 12-6 record following its three-game sweep over East Tennessee State last weekend. Haeli Bryson ranks 18th in Division I in RBI with 24, while Mackenzie Fitzgerald is ranked 15th in runs per game (1.22) and 14th toughest to strike out.
Bryson is batting .357 with five home runs and 14 runs scored, while Fitzgerald has 13 RBI and 22 runs scored to go with a .409 batting average. Carmen Betts (.327) has also collected double-digit RBIs with a collection of 17 thus far.
