Golden Eagle tennis takes their talents to Tulsa for the ITA Men’s All-American Championships

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech tennis team will be among the nation's best that will gather in Tulsa, Okla. for one of the most significant events of the fall. Five Golden Eagles will take their shot in the ITA Men's All-American Championships, with competition slated for Oct. 2-10.
Mika Berghaus, Evzen Holis, Andre Rodeia, Rafael Tosetto and Carlos Vicente make up Tech's five that will compete in singles action. The single-elimination format will begin on Saturday and the tournament will be held at the Michael D. Cast Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tulsa and Case Tennis Center at LaFortune Park.
The exclusive tourney will serve as TTU's third event of the fall, having already taken aim in the UNCG Fall Invitational as well as the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals. All four Golden Eagles that competed in singles play during the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals in Knoxville won at least one matchup, including Holis, Tosetto and Vicente, who all claimed at least two nods in their respective solo runs.
Tosetto and Vicente made it the Round of 32 with a pair of triumphs each, while Holis highlighted one of the most premier events of the fall with four victories to make it all the way to the quarterfinals. Two of the Brno, Czech Republic product's four nods came against "Power 5" competition behind victories over Indiana's Carson Hankins and Kentucky's Alexandre LeBlanc.
With the impressive showing, Holis is the Golden Eagle leader with a 7-2 singles ledger over the first two tourneys this autumn. Tosetto has shined as well with a 6-1 solo mark that included a perfect 4-0 run at the UNCG Fall Invitational.
