Golden Eagles blank Tennessee State in Sunday OVC match
NASHVILLE -- The Tennessee Tech tennis team had little trouble Sunday in posting a 7-0 victory over Tennessee State in Ohio Valley Conference action in the Music City.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech's tennis team had little
trouble Sunday afternoon in putting together a 7-0 victory over
Tennessee State in Ohio Valley Conference action. The win improved
Tech's records to 4-13 overall and 3-4 in the conference with two
matches remaining on the schedule.
Tech will wrap up the regular season this coming weekend when it
hosts Eastern Kentucky on Saturday and Morehead State Sunday on the
Tech campus tennis courts. Admission is free.
On Sunday, coach Kenny Doyle was able to bump his lineup slightly,
moving Vasily Eremeev
and Artem
Tarasov up to the No. 1 doubles position, and the duo responded
with an 8-2 win over Daniel Bernal and Kyle Burton. Tech's
regular top tandem, Alberto
Esteban and Oleksiy Arovin
rolled to an 8-1 win at the No. 2 spot over Joe Daniels and Brandon
McClain. On the No. 3 court, Alvaro Cintas
and Gagan
Jain won by default.
Up 1-0, Tech made short work in singles play by winning all four
matches that were played. TSU defaulted at the No. 2 and No. 6
positions.
Arovin topped Bernal, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 1 singles, Jain took a 6-4,
6-2 win over Daniels at No. 3, Eremeev handled McClain, 6-1, 6-3 at
No. 4, and Cintas downed Jared Asher, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5.
