High School: Heard was a four-year letterwinner at local Cookeville High School, playing guard for his father and former Tennessee Tech star, Josh Heard… helped lead CHS to the TSSAA 4A regular season title, a district championship, region crown, and sub-state boat, as well as a runner-up finish at the state tournament as a senior… finished his career as Cookeville’s all-time leading scorer with 1,780 points… as a senior, picked up All-State, All-Region, and All-District accolades and was named MVP for both the district and region… averaged 12 points, four rebounds, and two blocks per game during his senior campaign… as a junior, tallied 17.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, and a block per game… turned in 15.1 points, four rebounds, and a steal per game as a sophomore.

Personal: Son of Krissy and Josh Heard… born in Cookeville, Tenn. on December 28, 2005… full name is Joshua Kamron Heard… father, Josh, played basketball for Tech from 1998-2000, earning All-OVC First Team (1999-00) and All-OVC Second Team (1998-99) honors, delivering the top-two seasons for 3-point field goals made in school history (still ranks first and second), setting the program mark for career treys (still ranks fourth), and finishing second on the team’s career 3-point percentage list (still ranks eighth).
