2023 (Freshman): Played in one game but recorded no statistics.

HIGH SCHOOL: A versatile student-athlete, Nix played strong safety, tight end and fullback for the Buccaneers. This past season at tight end, he caught eight passes for 98 yards – an average of 12.3 yards per catch – for three touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, he recorded 105 total tackles and 10 for-loss with 4.5 sacks and 12 QB hurries. Nix also had a 72-yard interception return for a touchdown, nine pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble and a blocked field goal ... A team captain in 2022, Nix was also named the region Defensive Lineman of the Year while leading Beech to the Class 6A title game and a selection to the TACA East-West All-Star game ... In his prep career, collected 275 tackles, 11 interceptions, seven fumble recoveries and 10 sacks ... was a three-sport athlete at Beech, playing football, baseball and basketball.

Golden Eagles battle with SC State, fall on last-second attempt

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – South Carolina State jumped out to an early lead, but it wasn’t insurmountable. The Tennessee Tech team had opportunities and reclaimed the lead with some timely takeaways and had a chance to win the game on a last-second field goal. However, the kick sailed wide left as time expired, leading the visiting Bulldogs to a 22-20 win over the Golden Eagles on Saturday in their non-conference affair. Where Tech had relied on the running game in the last two games, both teams presented an aerial attack, combining for a whopping 708 yards through the air and just 114 yards on the ground. South Carolina State (3-2) was expected to come in with a strong quarterback in Eric Phoenix and he lived up to the hype, throwing for 412 yards and three touchdowns.
