2020-21 (Junior): Saw action in four games in the spring campaign ... recorded one tackle in the Southeast Missouri game.
2019 (Holmes Junior College): In nine games this past season, Johnson recorded 26 total tackles for Holmes JC – six solo and 20 total – averaging 2.9 tackles a game. He also had three sacks for 14 yards, as well as 7.5 tackles-for-loss for 18 yards. Johnson also recovered a fumble. Holmes JC went 4-5 this past season, with a 4-2 record in conference play. While at Holmes, Johnson was named as an honorable mention to the Mississippi Junior College all-state team and was first-team all-conference by the MACJC.
HIGH SCHOOL: In high school, he helped lead Germantown High to a Region 2-5A championship and earned two first-team all-region honors and co-defensive MVP. Recorded 116 tackles in his career with 10.5 sacks.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Homecoming on a college campus. It’s one of the most treasured traditions for any school. The leaves have turned various shades of red and orange with a cool, crisp air. Fans decked out in their team gear line the streets as the Homecoming parade marches down the street. On Saturday, it’ll be Tennessee Tech’s turn for the pageantry as the Golden Eagles host their 90th Homecoming game, bringing in UT Martin for the annual affair. In his freshman campaign against the Redhawks in 2018, Gist ran for a then-career-high 108 yards and two touchdowns. Saturday, against the 2021 edition of the SEMO squad, he outdid that, rushing for 133 total yards – a new career best – with two scores, while also adding 11 yards on three catches for 144 all-purpose yards in the contest as he led the Tech offense to a 28-17 victory over the Redhawks at Tucker Stadium.
