Robert Hill is anxious to return to the field in 2015 after sitting out a redshirt season last year...played on special teams as a true freshman in 2013...will be joined on the defense by his younger brother, John, a freshman signee at safety...part of a very athletic family, with a third brother on the roster at Appalachian State...a solid support person at linebacker, and can play at either the WILL or MIKE position...smart and tough with good skills...runs well and very coachable...a standout athlete during his prep career in Florida...combines excellent strength with good quickness on his feet.

AT TECH (IN 2014): Spent the 2014 season as a redshirt.

(IN 2013): Saw action in nine games as a backup linebacker as a true freshman and was on the field as a regular on special teams...recorded two tackles against Jacksonville State...finished the season with five total tackles.

HIGH SCHOOL: Hill was a two-time team Defensive MVP at Hernando High School in Brooksville, Fla...finished second all-time in quarterback sacks for his high school team behind Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro Jerome Brown...as a senior he had 90 total tackles with 10 quarterback sacks and 27.5 tackles-for-loss...caused four and recovered three fumbles and also blocked a punt...post-season awards included All-North Suncoast and All-Suncoast, as well as third-team Florida 6A All-State...in addition to football, he also lettered in wrestling, track, soccer and weight-lifting...finished third in the region in wrestling and a state qualifier in weightlifting.
