Bio
Calvin is a two-year starter and a fifth-year senior who returns
for one final season in the Golden Eagle offensive
front...projected starter at left tackle...one of the best on the
squad at pass protection...fits into a key role in the rotation at
tackle...strengths are his footwork and his experience...has now
started 23 consecutive games...developed into the starter at right
tackle as a sophomore...has all the tools and skills to be a
dominant player in the OVC...tremendous attitude...could be a
cornerstone in Tech's front line...has the versatility to play at
either the guard or tackle spots.
AT TECH: (In 2008): Calvin started all 12 games at
left tackle as a junior. (In 2007): Calvin started all 11 games at
right tackle for the Golden Eagles in his sophomore season. (In
2006): Calvin played in three games as a freshman in his first
season on the active roster. (In 2005): Calvin spent his first
season on the squad as a redshirt.
HIGH SCHOOL: A two-year, two-way starter for coach
Michael Daugherty at McMinn County High School, Calvin lined up on
both the offensive line and the defensive line for the
Cherokees…earned all-region and honorable mention all-state
laurels, and served as team captain…helped the team win the
2002 region championship…logged 55 total tackles as a
senior, recovered two fumbles and made seven
tackles-for-loss…also played two seasons on the basketball
team…as a freshman, he was named the team’s Most
Improved Pleyer…also named to the All-Area (Best of Preps)
team and Athens Times Dynamite Dozen.
